The finale to the 2013 Giro d’Italia is beginning to resemble a kinder surprise chocolate. We’ll have live updates from 8.30pm AEST.

Yesterday’s Stage 19 was cancelled due to snow and Stages 14 and 15 were both re-routed, also due to snow.

At the time of writing, Stage 20 is expected to go ahead, so hopefully you’ll enjoy spending your Saturday evening with me.

I do, however, have a nice bottle of red on standby if we have to cancel our date.

So, where will the peloton ride today? Well, from what I have been able to piece together the lads should see themselves ride the first 55 kilometres as planned.

The Castalunga, San Pellegrino and the Passo Giau are no longer on today’s route.

Instead riders will ride through the valleys of Brunico and Dobbiaco. This will get them to Cortina d’Ampezzo to start the climb to Tre Cime di Lavarado.

The last few kilometres will present riders with ascents up to a challenging 18%. Let’s just hope the race organisers can keep the finish.

Due to the changes, the stage will now be raced over 210 kilometres, seven kilomteres more than the original route.

All barring a major incident, the Maglia Rosa will find her new home in Sicily. The last two stages of the Grio will decide the minor placings with Rigoberto Uran of Sky looking quite threatening in third.

Cadel will need to be on his game in order to hold the Colombian off.

Join me tonight from 8.30pm for the live blog.
