This year’s Tour de France has certainly been eventful, but Vincenzo Nibali will hope that the final ride into Paris and on to the Champs Elysees will be a quieter affair so he can savour his final day in yellow. Join The Roar from 10:30pm (AEST) for live commentary and updates.

The final stage of this year’s Tour de France will be a 137.5 kilometre ride from Evry to Paris and the ceremonial sprint finish on the Champs Elysees.

Unfortunately, we will be deprived of the big battle we wanted to see, Mark Cavendish versus Marcel Kittel, but it looks like Kittel will have some able challengers.

Andre Greipel would love to take a victory ahead of his compatriot, he has one stage win this year already but will definitely give it his all on the fabled avenue.

Peter Sagan will also be vying to take what would be his first stage win of the Tour, despite having wrapped up the green jersey for most consistent finisher days ago.

As long as he finishes in Paris he will take his third green jersey in a row, and must be now eyeing up the record six won by Erik Zabel.

Nevertheless, there are men that will be riding into Paris thoroughly relaxed. Rafal Majka has won the King of the Mountains jersey, a fantastic result for the Polish rider who wasn’t happy about even riding the Tour when the race started back in Yorkshire.

Vincenzo Nibali will want to remain safe once the peloton starts rocketing around the Champs Elysees, so he can finish the race with arms in the air as winner of the Tour de France.
