Sydney FC

Sydney FCOriginally known as the glamour club of the A-League, Sydney FC has lured the likes of Alessandro Del Piero, Dwight Yorke, Benito Carbone and Juninho to the harbour city during its history.

Having been crowned the inaugural A-League champions in 2005/06, the club went on to claim their first Premiership, and second Championship, in a highly successful 2009/10 season. Since then, though, the club has been inconsistent, going from the one extreme of making the grand final in 2014-15 (where they were handily defeated by the Melbourne Victory, 3-0) to missing the finals altogether in 2015-16.

As always, there are high expectations on Graham Arnold’s men for 2016-17, with the signing of Brazilian Bobo expected to cure the maladies up front which plagued the Sky Blues in 2015-16.

2015-16 season: 7th

2016-17 squad: Vedran Janjetovic, Danny Vukovic, Alex Wilkinson, Matthew Jurman, Michael Zullo, Aaron Calver, Sebastian Ryall, Rhyan Grant, Joshua Brillante, Milos Dimitrijevic, Milos Ninkovic, Brandon O’Neill, David Carney, Bobô, Bernie Ibini, Alex Brosque, Matt Simon, George Blackwood, Filip Holosko.

Coach: Graham Arnold
