Gold Coast Titans

Gold Coast TitansSince their inception to the NRL in 2007, the Cold Coast Titans have had to rely heavily on key recruits Scott Prince, Preston Campbell, Matt Rogers and Luke Bailey for results. As is the case with most new sides, injuries have derailed the Titans’ finals cause in their first two NRL seasons. In 2014 the Titans finished the regular season in 14th place.

The Gold Coast Titans have struggled ever since they became a part of the NRL as an expansion club. They have some good moments sprinkled through too many bad ones and need a strong season in 2015. New coach Neil Henry could be the change the Titans need, and their fans will be hoping and […]

Gold Coast Titans’ new coach unlikely to stop the rot

by , 17 Jan 2015

As the youngest club in the NRL, Gold Coast will need some skilful navigation if they are to avert the same disaster as befell its namesake ship. Finishing the 2014 season in 14th after leading all comers early in the season, the Titans will be asking themselves what went wrong. Luckily they have recruited a […]

Titans’ horror year continues with Carter’s sacking

by , 16 Dec 2014

For an NRL club that is trying to revitalise its image, Gold Coast’s players aren’t doing the Titans any favours. Chief executive Graham Annesley admits he was almost lost for words when told young forward Paul Carter had been caught drink-driving for the second time this year on Saturday morning – less than a day […]

Gold Coast coach Neil Henry sees no need to put his players on notice over their Christmas break despite two off-field incidents that have marred the Titans’ NRL pre-season. Expensive night out for Greg Bird could also hurt the Titans

Expensive night out for Greg Bird could also hurt the Titans

by , 9 Dec 2014

This is going to turn out to be a very expensive leak for Greg Bird. My understanding is that he can expect to be fined somewhere from $10,000 to $50,000 by the Gold Coast club, depending on a couple of factors. One is how angry the individual members of the club’s disciplinary committee are when […]

No No. 1 guarantee for new Titan Hoffman

by , 3 Dec 2014

Josh Hoffman is Gold Coast’s big off-season recruit but he still has to prove to the Titans’ coaches he’s the NRL club’s best option at fullback. Hoffman quit Brisbane to join the Titans last month following Darius Boyd’s return to the Broncos, seeking to play more in his favoured No.1 jersey. But if the 26-year-old […]
