Australia’s Stuart Appleby is assured of plenty of attention in the first two rounds of the Masters after being drawn to play alongside Tiger Woods.

Appleby and Woods, neighbours in a ritzy Florida estate, played in the final pairing in the final round at last year’s Masters, and they’ll be back together when the tournament starts at Augusta National on Thursday.

With US Open champion Angel Cabrera also in the threesome, they will tee off in the first round at 10.45am local time (12.45amAEST).

In-form Australian Geoff Ogilvy also will be part of an impressive trio, joining defending champion Zach Johnson and talented Englishman Luke Donald for the first two rounds.

Aaron Baddeley does not have the greatest draw, out in the final threesome on Thursday, although he will have a more favourable tee time on Friday.

Honorary starter Arnold Palmer will hit the ceremonial first tee shot at 7.50am local time.

The Masters draw is not blind, with the committee generally sticking the big names in one of the final groupings in each half of the draw.

For example, Woods is in the penultimate group for the first round, while Phil Mickelson is in the third last group for the second round.
