Reece Walsh chokes back tears speaking of outside football friendship with Pat Carrigan
Is a bromance developing between the Broncos teammates?
Despite Jamie Lyon’s best efforts to cage himself in on Sydney’s inner Northern beaches, his sky blue state has other ideas for the Manly centre.
Lyon, it is understood, will have no other option but to play for NSW if selected in the team, even if it’s not in his interest to want to do so.
I find it remarkable that an administration would even consider Lyons services if his commitment is not 100 percent, which quite clearly it is not.
Lyon failed in his attempt to get exemption from NRL representative duties after last year after he told coach Craig Bellamy he did not want to play Origin for NSW.
He stands to be stood down from future Manly matches if he is selected and does not play.
Let’s hope that the selectors understand that it is in the interest of NSW that he is not selected, and that a centre of equal or better ability is chosen in his place.
