How come Roarers are smarter than coaches?

All last week, there were many posts pointing out that Deans and his helpers had got it wrong by persisting in playing guys in positions that were a bad fit. As we saw in Tokyo, we were right and they were wrong.

Giteau continues to unimpress at 5/8 (Can you believe it? He got charged down yet again.)

The Dingo feels that Cross is the best available O/C in Australian rugby. He feels that JOC should be somewhere on the field. He still feels that George Smith can play 8.

And he won’t take advantage of Chisholm’s pace as a ball carrier.

He was right about Pocock. But then, so were we.

And he apparently took our advice and had somebody have a ‘get-with-the-program’ word with Palu.

Now come four important games playing on the other team’s turf with upwards of, oh, say 70,000 fans dead-set against the green and gold, and little room for Deans to make sweeping changes to a team that can’t seem to gel.

Better hold on, folks. If you’re a Wallaby fan, as I am, we’re in for a long tour.
