It starts on Friday night in the Gold Coast when the Blaze take on the Wollongong Hawks, who both sit just outside the top four playoff spots. Games don’t come any bigger than this, Wollongong have a half game lead over the Gold Coast but if the Blaze win that would give both teams a 12-12 record and the Blaze have the split on the Hawks having won all three games of their head to head series.

Saturday night is another big one, when the Cairns Taipans welcome the Melbourne Tigers on the floor where the Orangemen have only lost two games all year. The only problem is those two losses have been their last two games at home, and one of those losses came at the hands of bottom of the ladder Kings who they lead by 17 points at one point in the game.

The other loss was to the top of the ladder Breakers, but the Taipans blow a 20 point halftime lead in that match. So I think it’s safe to say that Cairns WILL NOT be taking the Melbourne Tigers lightly.

The same night in Townsville the Crocs get a chance to avenge the one-point loss they suffered to the New Zealand Breakers last Thursday. It was a tough week for the Crocs who slipped from second to third place after dropping a double to the Breakers and then the next night to the Hawks.

But Townsville have been putting the hammer on visiting teams at the Swamp this year only losing one game on their home floor.

Also on Saturday night in Wollongong the Hawks have to go back to back nights going from a tough one in the Gold Coast, then back to the ‘Gong to take on the Adelaide 36ers. Adelaide have plenty on the line too, two losses in NSW this weekend would drop them to the bottom of the ladder behind the Sydney Kings.

The 36ers finshed with the wooden spoon last year and with a host of new players and a newly appointed coach, Titletown was hoping for a much improved side.

On Sunday Night NBL, OneHD’s coverage will be at the Kingdome in Sydney where the Kings take on the Adelaide 36ers.

The Kings are as hot as any team in the competition having won 6 of their last nine games, and they are facing the team that sits just on top of them on the ladder, so the motivation is sky high for both of these teams. The Kings’ front office has been doing a great job with their game night presentation all year, so look to see a crowd of over 6,000 and
