Super Bowl XLVI. Rematch. Revenge. Whatever you want to call it, we’re set for a blockbuster of a match between New York Giants and New England Patriots. We’ll have live scores and commentary of the biggest game on America’s sporting calender from 10.30am AEDT.

Two elite quarterbacks – one set for the Hall of Fame, the other making a case for his place. Eli Manning and Tom Brady are Super Bowl winning MVPs. Brady is aiming to win his fourth ring and become only the second quarterback to do so.

Two head coaches – both primed for the Hall of Fame.

At 10.30am this morning, the New England Patriots will take to the field and battle against their inter-conference rival the New York Giants.

Four years ago, these two sides played an epic game with the Giants pulling off one of the most stunning upsets in Super Bowl history when they defeated the unbeaten and heavily favoured Patriots.

The Giants run to the big dance started with a win over Atlanta in the wildcard game, then were far too good for the Green Bay Packers on their home turf before being victorious against San Francisco in extra time to make it to today.

New York lost four consecutive games during the season including a bad loss to San Francisco that resulted in talk about a season in ruins and a coach preparing his resume.

After that loss, the Giants came out and with 35 seconds to go in the game, Manning successfully executed a match winning drive to beat the Patriots.

The Patriots made it to the Super Bowl by smashing Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos (45-10) in the divisional then fought hard to get the win over Baltimore in the conference championship.

New England only lost three games throughout the regular season including New York, Pittsburgh and Buffalo.

Here is what needs to happen today. Both teams need to deal with the big game hype. The giants must get to Brady and limit the Patriots tight ends.

New York and New England have to stay balanced. The latter need to slow down New York’s weaponry and get after Eli. Both teams also must control the tempo and get a ground game going.

Two matchups to watch are Giants C David Bass v the Patriots NT Vince Wilfork and Patriots WR Wes Wlker v Giants CB Cory Webster.

Tom Brady is on 39,979 yards and will reach 40,000 in the Super Bowl. Another interesting point is whichever team win, will their coach retire?

Enjoy the game. Join us right here from 10.30am for start-to-finish live scores and play-by-play commentary of this tantalising rematch, and give us your thoughts in the space below.
