Andrew Bogut’s trade to the Golden State Warriors means he will soon hold the NBA championship.

They say titles are built on big threes and a strong support team. In Bogut, the Warriors have just found the missing piece to secure a championship ring.

When healthy, the big Australian has all the attributes to complete a unit that always falls painfully short of reaching playoffs and glory. With a reinvigorated Bogut, and ex-San Antonio Spurs weapon Richard Jefferson now on board, the Warriors are in win mode.

Without Ellis compromising the defence, underperforming Udoh eating up valuable minutes and the experience of two highly skilled defensive minded quality veterans, the only direction for the Warriors and Bogut is up.

Bogut has long been plagued by an unstable and weak support cast in Milwaukee. In reality, he was never going to win a championship with the Bucks.

Joining the Warriors, he finally has the talented group he needs to make some noise with the NBA’s elite.

With Stephen Curry feeding him the ball, Jefferson taking over scoring and David Lee on the boards, Bogut will be able to feed off a well rounded unit and stick to playing a more traditional centre role. Gone is the need to worry about an overly porous defensive unit, which often frustrated Bogut at the Bucks.

Bogut now has the stability to challenge a changing Western Conference. The Lakers, Mavericks and Spurs are all getting older. Bogut’s move west provides him with an opportunity to spark the 12th place Warriors, helping them become competitive and allowing them to charge up the board.

Now, both the Warriors and Bogut will become the title-winning forces we always knew they were.
