One of the highlights of round three is from the MCG as the Adelaide Crows make their Victorian debut, taking on a Hawthorn side desperate to put last week behind them. We’ll bring you live coverage as it happens from 3.10pm AEST.

If you are a Hawks supporter, I know you’ve been hurting over the last six days – it’s been tough.

The players have had strips torn off them in the minutes after the game finished, and probably had one of the toughest reviews during the week.

Never fear, because a team like Hawthorn won’t just whimper in the corner from here. No, they’ll be out this week to make sure everyone knows they are still the real deal in 2012.

They fell to an outstanding Geelong side. But if you take away the last quarter of football (an easy thing to do), they controlled the play most of the afternoon.

Sam Mitchell was running rampant, Jordan Lewis was outstanding, and Brendan Whitecross showed he’s a future star of the side.

They face an Adelaide side that is undefeated in 2012, including the NAB Cup. I must admit I didn’t think I’d be saying that.

They were impressive in the pre-season; they had a simple round one, and then showed that when pushed, they can respond well when they beat the Western Bulldogs last week.

But today is the true test for the Crows.

They’re at a venue they haven’t seen that often in the last 12 months – last season the Crows played just once at the MCG against Melbourne.

It’s a venue they haven’t played at all that well of late – they’ve lost their last 5 at the MCG.

Then again, their last win at the home of football was against the Hawks and they have a good record against Hawthorn winning three of the last four.

Their forward line has been strong so far this season with Taylor Walker with 8 goals next to his name as well as the likes of Kurt Tippett, Ian Callinan and Patrick Dangerfield scoring well early this season.

The question is can the defence of the Crows match-up against such a potent forward line?

I get the feeling we might see some brilliance today from Lance Franklin and Cyril Rioli today. If they get hot today, how will Adelaide be able to stop them?

It’s a pretty busy day for milestones at the Hawks today. One of the classiest players in the AFL right now, Sam Mitchell will play his 200th alongside defender Shaun Burgoyne.

His milestone also brings him and his brother Peter alongside Michael and Brendon Gale as equal twelfth on the most games by a pair of brothers.

Meanwhile, Jordan Lewis will be playing his 150th.

They’re three very important players in this Hawks team. I’m sure they’ll want to be celebrating at days end.

Make sure you have your say on the action as it happens. We’ll bring you as much as we can from what should be a great match to help wrap up round three. First bounce is at 3.10pm AEST so if you’re watching or following along, leave your opinion in the space below.
