'That's it, you're done!' Host cracks it one step into fan's totally nuff five-point plan to save Blues
"That's the worst plan I have ever heard in my life!"
Greater Western Sydney coach Kevin Sheedy believes his young charges will not be overawed by the prospect of taking on AFL heavyweights Carlton on Sunday.
“It will be a challenge. There’s going to be 35,000 Carlton fans who will come to check the new team out,” Sheedy said.
Sheedy was encouraged by the team’s performance against the Western Bulldogs last start and believes a historic win isn’t too far away.
The Blues sit in third place, and have entertained the option of resting key players for their clash with the fledgling AFL side.
“If they do that (rest players), they do so at their own risk,” Sheedy warned.
Teenage midfielder Dylan Shiel has made no secret of his admiration for Chris Judd and Carlton, and is relishing the chance of playing them on their own turf.
“It’s disappointing when teams say they will rest players against us,” Shiel said.
“We can understand why they choose to do so but, for our learning and development, we want to play the best players.”
The trip south to Etihad Stadium is the first time the Giants will play in Melbourne in a premiership match, and it is something the playing group is looking forward to.
“The Melbourne and Victorian boys are sure to have family and friends in the crowd,” Shiel said.
While Sunday’s line-up is yet to be finalised, former Carlton player Setanta O’hAilpin is a big chance of playing in the match, while rugby league recruit Israel Folau will be closely monitored by coaching staff as he attempts to overcome the effects of a virus.

How could you, Hughesy!
A few weeks ago, I dubbed Carlton and Geelong as the premiership frontrunners - at a time when they sat, respectively, fourth and first…
An innocuous incident - but any trouble for the Chad?
Safe to say Hodgey was fighting a lone battle with this take!
Surely this had to be recalled!
