The facts are staring NSW in the face: A potential seventh straight series loss. Since 1980, Queensland have won 49 of the Origin games between the states and are looking at chalking up their 50th win.

The Blues have turned the page with a new era of selections – nine new faces join the side from the team that lost the 2011 series decider.

Queensland look to roll on with their star lineup. Coach Mal Meninga has built a successful Maroons team around consistency in their roster thanks largely to boasting numerous players regarded as the finest in their position.

Despite fitness concerns over NSW captain Paul Gallen and a flu-virus that ran through the Queensland squad, both sides are expected to line up as named.

The Maroons go into game one as $1.50 favourites with the Blues at $2.65.
