It was a resounding victory for the Wallabies over France in the first Test last weekend.

The Wallabies played well and you can only play against what the opposition serve up on the day. However, it’s hard to know just how good the Wallabies performance was given the poor performance by France.

This week we’ll get a much better idea of where the Wallabies stand as they’ll be up against a much better French team with some quality players expected to be added for the second Test.

Despite having to make three changes to the forward pack due to injury, the Wallabies side looks strong.

It was terrible news for Stephen Moore with his well deserved captaincy cut short but congratulations also to Michael Hooper on being chosen to lead the Wallabies.

In this week’s episode of The Roar Rugby Show I look back at some plays from the first Test to get a better idea of what may happen in the second Test.

The key areas I’ve looked at are:

  1. Some lapses with the Wallabies defence and at the same time some of the attack we saw from France that gives us some clues as to how they’ll play this week;
  2. The Wallabies kicking, although the kicking was limited as they were getting such good results from running the ball last week;
  3. The Wallabies attack which looked really good.

Having listened to the video before publishing it, I realise how many times I talked about attacking ‘through the French’ – a theme I touched on in last week’s episode.

Yesterday I launched my first 3D rugby analysis looking at Nick Cummins’ excellent try from the first Test which featured the sort of attack I’m talking about when I say ‘through the defence’. If you missed it you can watch it here.
