Two 2015 finals hopefuls meet in Albury, as the Richmond Tigers travel north to host the Port Adelaide Power in their second NAB Challenge match. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 4:00pm (AEST)

Port Adelaide was the last opponent the Tigers faced in a competitive match as they went down by 57 points in last year’s elimination final at the Adelaide Oval, ending the Tigers’ fairytale run into September.

Port Adelaide fielded a strong team and cruised to a 40-point victory against the Eagles in their first NAB Challenge game, while a very inexperienced Tigers side went down valiantly to the Bulldogs. This week the two teams swap roles.

The Power line-up is a very young one, with Sam Russell, Dougal Howard and Jesse Palmer making their debuts at the elite level for the club.

AFL fans will be eager to witness the debut of Johann Wagner, who was the inaugural winner of Fox 8’s The Recruit. Wagner was recruited by his boyhood club Port Adelaide and the 24-year-old will be hoping to make an impact and be elevated onto the senior list.

The Power have rested many of their stars ahead of this match, including captain Travis Boak, Brad Ebert, Hamish Hartlett, Robbie Gray, Kane Cornes, Alipate Carlile, Jay Schulz and Justin Westhoff.

However Jared Polec, Matthew Broadbent, Jack Hombsch, Tom Logan, Jarrad Redden, Darcy Byrne-Jones and Dougal Harvey will return to action in 2015 today.

The Tigers have meanwhile listed a near full-strength team, with the likes of Brett Deledio, Dustin Martin, Jack Riewoldt, Ivan Maric and Alex Rance returning for their first taste of action in 2015.

Captain Trent Cotchin will miss the match due to minor hamstring problems, leaving Deledio to captain the side. Nathan Foley is another key absence for the Tigers; he will miss the first two weeks of the season, having to undergo foot surgery in the coming weeks.

Prediction
The return of Richmond’s big guns should ensure a victory for the Tigers.

Tigers by 36 points.
