Melbourne City are out to consolidate their place in this season’s finals campaign when they travel north to face the Western Sydney Wanderers at Pirtek Stadium. Join The Roar from 7:20pm (AEST) for live scores and commentary.

A finals berth is starting to become a reality for Melbourne City, who have not participated in the A-League finals since the 2011-12 season as the Melbourne Heart.

The club have won their last three matches in a row, and sit eight points clear inside the top six ahead of Brisbane in seventh. A win for City would sew up their finals spot, with only another three matches of the regular season.

The Wanderers meanwhile will be hoping to end their season in complete contrast to the way that it started, with a strong end to the season sure to lift morale.

Melbourne City have only ever beaten the Wanderers once in their short history and are yet to defeat the Wanderers away. This fixture has produced 37 yellow cards in seven matches, with an average of 6 bookings a match, the second most booked fixture in the league.

The Wanderers welcome back Matt Spiranovic and Tomi Juric, who did not feature in the Socceroos matches abroad due to injuries, while Melbourne City welcome back star midfielder Aaron Mooy to face his former club.

Kerem Bullut has become just the third player in the history of the A-League to score five goals in five matches. The striker has lit up the A-League in recent weeks with a great patch of form, along with great passion and excitement which has seen him live up to his potential.

Mooy has contributed to his side with two assists and is currently leading the league in crosses with an average of nine a match – a crucial weapon given Josh Kennedy is the target man. If Mooy is given enough room in midfield he will deliver deadly balls into the penalty box.

While City are on a three-game winning streak, they are yet to beat the Wanderers in Parramatta, a hoodoo venue they will very much want to overcome.

Draw 2-2
