Serena Williams is undoubtedly one of the best women to have ever played tennis. A tournament win would see her take over Chris Evert (6) in holding the most US Open titles and equal her on consecutive grand slam wins (4).

Williams holds an impressive win-loss record of 9-1 from her last ten matches, featuring only a loss to Belinda Bencic 6-3, 5-7, 4-6 at the semi-finals of the Canadian Masters.

Her first round opponent, Vitalia Diatchenko, retired with Williams soon after picking up her first win of the tournament over Kiki Bertens 7-6, 6-3. Her third round match saw her come back from 3-6 down in the first set to win the final two sets 7-5, 6-0.

Keys is in great form after defeating fellow seed Agnieszka Radwanska in straight sets, she is beginning to prove herself as an established player on the WTA Tour and a genuine smoky for the US Open title.

A win over Serena Williams would boost the 20-year-old’s confidence and could see her surge up the rankings, a result many tennis fans would love to see.

Keys is seeded 19th and holds a 6-4 win-loss record in her last ten matches. She began her US Open campaign with a win in straight sets over Klara Koukalova during the first round 6-2, 6-4; backing up in the second round to defeat Tereza Smitkova 6-1, 6-2 and most recently a win over 15th seed Agnieszka Radwanska in the third round 6-3, 6-2.

Williams and Keys have only met once with Williams defeating the young American 7-6, 6-2 in the semi-finals of the 2015 Australian Open.
