Teams have been named for next year’s NRL All Stars match, fixtured to take place on February 13 at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. For the first time, a World All Stars team has been put together to take on the reigning champions, the Indigenous All Stars.

Laurie Daley and Wayne Bennett, coaching the Indigenous and World All Stars respectively, named their teams in Brisbane today.

Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, Semi Radradra, James Graham and Martin Taupau are some of the big names representing the World All Stars, while the Indigenous team will be headed up by the likes of Jonathan Thurston and Greg Inglis.

Sam Burgess and James Roberts have also been included in the squads – subject to the finalisaiton of their NRL contracts.

“This is such a special game for our players,” said Daley.

“The online voting and competition for positions was so intense – and the players want to be part of this match.

“We have picked a strong side full of players who have represented at the highest level for years.

“And it never hurts to have the Dally M Player of the year and Grand Final hero as your captain!”

Bennett was also excited about his squad, and the prospective of a high-quality, competitive match.

“The extended option to pick a World All Stars team means our fans will get the chance to see two high quality teams in the 2016 event,” Bennett said.

“It is a new challenge for these guys to be playing alongside each other rather than against and one that I am sure they will relish.”
