For the first time this season, the Philadelphia 76ers will take on the Golden State Warriors, in what could be one of the most one-sided games of the season as the worst team in the NBA take on the best at the Wells Fargo Center. Join The Roar for live scores from 9am (AEDT).

Despite the fact that the 76ers have won three of their last five games against the Portland Trail Blazers, Orlando Magic and Phoenix Suns, finally looking to hit some degree of form, anything that could go wrong for the 76ers this season generally has done.

To help illustrate how bad their form has been during the first half of the season, their last three wins have brought them to a record of seven victories and 40 losses, a full 27 losses back from the Eastern Conference-leading Cleveland Cavaliers. Taking out those three recent wins, they only managed to win four of their first 35 games this season.

In the games that the 76ers have managed to win, it has been their defence that has stood up on each occasion. From that pressure, they have managed to create offence and it must be the same sort of focus against the Warriors.

The Warriors on the other hand are the leading team in the NBA. With the highest win percentage out of either conference, and a record of 42 wins with just four losses, it is not hard to see why they are the best in the competition.

Their defence has been good, but offence has been the key reason they are so ahead of the pack. Or namely, Stephen Curry and his ridiculously good shooting.

The Warriors enter this game having won five in a row, and back on top of the situation after dropping two from three a fortnight ago.

While the teams haven’t played each other so far in this 2015-2016 season, being inter-conference rivals means they will only have one more game, to be played at the Oracle Arena towards the end of the season.

Last season, the two meetings both ended in Warriors victories. The second, away from home, was only a five point win after the first match ended in a 40-point smashing by the Warriors.

Prediction
If everything goes right for the 76ers, then they might just be able to compete with the Warriors. The 76ers haven’t looked like beating many teams this year, and have been out of a lot of games early on. The Warriors will actually be looking to rest players throughout this game, and give some of their big stars some time off the court.

Warriors by 34.
