Five and a kick: Hasler's pain game, RTS is a choke point and why Souths should give Demetriou a month

As we all know, six Warriors players were late to a team meeting last week, and consequently made unavailable for selection against the Dragons.
Since then however, Manu Vatuvei, Ben Matulino, Bodene Thompson, Albert Vete, Sam Lisone and Konrad Hurrell have also been banned from representing their various nations in the upcoming rep round.
All six had legitimate claims for selection and at least four of them were sure things. The Warriors management have gone way too far here and putting aside the fact they seem to be getting punished twice, this is an extraordinary overreach of power.
Hypothetically, if Ryan Hoffman was one of the six players banned and had been selected for Australia, what would the ARL say to the Warriors when they told them that Hoffman wouldn’t be available? Alternatively, if Tohu Harris and Jesse Bromich had faced disciplinary action from the Storm, would the NZRL accept a call from Craig Bellamy informing them that they would be unavailable to play?
The Warriors have gone out of their jurisdiction here in banning these players. How they punish their players internally is completely up to them, like it is with any club, but I don’t see what power they have to tell international bodies who they can and can’t pick.
