There may be one hundred players sitting between them on the WTA Rankings, but you can be sure Agnieszka Radwanska and Tsvetana Pironkova will put on a show when they clash in the fourth round. Join The Roar for live scores from around 12:30am (AEST).

Pironkova stunned Sloane Stephens in the third round after blowing out the 19th seed American in straight sets 6-2, 6-1.

She also knocked over 16th seed Sara Errani 6-3, 6-2 in the first round also earning a win over Johanna Larrson 7-5 7-6 in the second.

The Bulgarian has never reached the fourth round at Roland Garros before and is taking every opportunity as it comes following a nightmarish lead-in to the tournament failing to get out of the qualifying stages at Madrid and Rome and also being knocked out in the second round at Istanbul.

With five wins to her name in her last ten matches, Pironkova may have had a great campaign so far in Paris but it won’t last for long with her run likely to come to an end against Agnieszka Radwanska, one of the best players on the WTA Tour.

Any chance of moving into world No.1 has been quashed for now but Radwanska will be eager to continue her march toward the final as she aims to win her first ever grand slam crown and reach the semifinals at Roland Garros for the first time that began back in 2005.

Like Pironkova, the Polish world No.2 struggled in the lead-up to the French Open losing at her first chance in Madrid and being knocked over by the 37th ranked Laura Siegemund in the semifinals at Stuttgart.

The 2006 French Open junior singles winner is on the rise and should continue her campaign.

In eleven meetings between the pair, Radwanska has won all but two matches.

Last time they met came in the quarter-finals of Eastbourne last year with Radwanska winning in straight sets 6-2, 6-2.

They have met four times on clay with Radwanska winning all of those encounters.

The winner will meet with either sixth seed Simona Halep or 21st seed Australian Samantha Stosur.

Prediction
Agnieszka Radwanska will be far too good and end Pironkova’s dream run with an emphatic win in straight sets.

Radwanska in straight sets.
