Gold Coast vice-captain Tom Lynch will likely cop an AFL fine for striking – after already copping a bake from his coach.
Lynch was reported for his punch to the stomach of Sydney’s Jeremy Laidler in the Suns’ loss on Saturday night.
While the force of the blow is likely to be deemed insufficient for a suspension when the Match Review Panel delivers its verdict on Monday, Lynch’s coach Rodney Eade has already carpeted the key forward.
“From our point of view it was totally undisciplined from a leader,” Eade said post-match.
“We’ve spoken to him about that … it’s not acceptable, especially as a leader.”
Melbourne’s Bernie Vince will also learn his fate on Monday after being reported for striking Hawthorn’s Isaac Smith, though replays showed the force was minimal.
