With just one win outside of Perth so far this season the Eagles will feel much more comfortable getting back home this week after a disappointing loss to the Western Bulldogs in Round 11.

These struggles away from home have the Eagles perched at seventh spot at the halfway point of the season, and they will be looking to lift that ranking to try to book a home final in September.

After a tough few weeks following a great start to the season, the Adelaide Crows look as if they have recaptured the form that had them touted as a top four chance in the early rounds. They recorded a thrilling win over the Giants and a demolition of the Saints in the past two weeks, and will now be looking to consolidate their spot in the top eight.

In team news, the Crows’ relatively good run with injuries has continued as they will have plenty of options to choose from for this contest, while for the Eagles the big question mark hangs over the head of Nic Naitanui who spent the early part of this week on crutches with reported Achilles soreness.

The chances of this game becoming a shootout is likely if the conditions in Perth are good, so expect to see an exciting battle between two of the most potent forward lines in the AFL. Down one end will be Josh Kennedy, Jack Darling and Mark LeCras, up the other end will be Josh Jenkins, Taylor Walker and Eddie Betts.

Whichever backline can hold their nerve better for four quarters will go a long way to winning the game for their team.

The Eagles hold a slender 3-2 advantage in the recent head-to-head record between the two clubs, with Adelaide’s last win at Domain Stadium against West Coast coming in Round 23 of 2013.

Prediction
These two sides are tough to split, but the home ground advantage for the Eagles gives them a slight advantage.

Eagles by 8.
