Chelsea will be looking to top the Premier League table with a win over Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

After being held to a 2-all draw with Swansea City in their last fixture, Chelsea will be looking to play catch up with top of the table Manchester City who sit two points ahead.

Diego Costa put the Blues up in the first half, however Chelsea ended up 2-1 down in the second. Costa came to rescue in the 81st minute, as both sides were forced to share the spoils.

Costa has been on fire for the Blues, scoring five goals in his last four Premier League appearances.

History will be on the side of Chelsea, who have lost just once in their last eight Premier League games against Liverpool. However, their last loss came in this exact fixture last season.

Coming off a huge 4-1 win over defending Premier League champions Leicester City, Liverpool will be looking to put an inconsistent start to their 2016/17 campaign behind them with a big win over Chelsea.

Roberto Firmino bagged the first and last goals against the Foxes, with Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana also finding the net at Anfield.

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp recorded his first ever Premier League win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last year, but has failed to beat the Blues since.

The last time these two sides met was in the International Champions Cup earlier in the year. Gary Cahill scored in the 10th minute, and that was enough to give the Blues the win in California.

Prediction

A big talking point of both Chelsea and Liverpool’s seasons have been their defence. Chelsea have kept just the one clean sheet in their last 14 home games, and Liverpool are amongst the clubs that have conceded the most goals this season.

Both sides have firepower up front, but historically this fixture has proven to be rather low scoring. This could very well change for this fixture.
