When is Greater Western Sydney Giants vs Western Bulldogs AFL preliminary final? kick-off time, date, TV guide, teams

The first AFL preliminary final will see a feel-good story unfold as the Greater Western Sydney Giants take on the Western Bulldogs at Spotless Stadium in Sydney on Saturday, September 24 with the first bounce scheduled for 5:15pm (AEST).

The match, as is the case with all the AFL Finals, will be broadcast on both the free-to-ai Seven Network and Fox Footy, which can be found on Foxtel channel 504 for pay-tv subscribers.

Seven will begin their coverage at 5pm, 15 minutes before the first bounce, and conclude at 8pm while Fox Footy will have a much more comprehensive broadcast which begins at 4:30pm and finishes at 8:45pm.

The teams for the clash were announced on Thursday.

This match has come to be after the Giants upset the Sydney Swans in the first week of the finals from fourth position, and earnt a week off and direct passage to this match.

The Bulldogs, on the other hand, have had to do things the hard way, getting a surprise win away from home over the West Coast Eagles and then backing that up by knocking out the Hawthorn Hawks in Melbourne.

The winner of this match will progress to the AFL grand final next Saturday and take on the winner of the other preliminary final between the Geelong Cats and Sydney Swans.
