Looking to redeem themselves after a poor showing last week, the Phoenix started this game with real intent as they dominated the ball in the first few minutes.
Holding strong at the back the Glory were able to work their way into the game as Wellington failed to make the most of early possession.
Despite creating multiple chances Perth lacked accuracy in front of goal in the first half and had to settle for a scoreless first 45 minutes with Wellington lucky to hold on.
After the break, it took just minutes for the Glory to open the scoring. Diego Castro converting a penalty in the 48th minute after Chris Harold went down under a soft challenge.
Ten minutes later, the Glory were again awarded a penalty after Andy Keogh was ruled to have been tripped by Glen Moss. The Irish striker was unable to convert his own penalty, as his tame effort was saved easily by Moss.
Rather than let their heads drop though, Perth made sure they had their second goal soon enough. A wonderful team move saw Harold play Josh Risdon down the right touchline with the right back able to pick out Nebojsa Marinkovic in the box who slammed home his shot in the 66th minute.
Wellington never gave up their search of a comeback but the Glory didn’t let last week’s result repeat itself as they nullified a rather stuttering Phoenix attack in a full 90-minute performance.
Perth bounced back to show their quality this evening while Wellington fall to their sixth consecutive A-League loss and are the only team yet to score this season.
