MUST WATCH: JFM obliterates IPL bowling attack - even Bumrah! - for 15-ball 50... and keeps going
A six-laden, 27-ball 84 from Jake Fraser-McGurk to continue his outrageous debut IPL!
The Ashes are finally back, and the first Test between Australia and England is about to get underway at the Gabba in Brisbane. Here is The Roar’s guide to watching and following the match.
All the talk is over, it’s time to perform on the field. The all-important first Test is to be played between the 23rd and 27th of November. Both teams will need a strong start to the long series, however it will be England who will be facing all the pressures of playing away from home.
The lead up to the Ashes has been eventful, to say the least, with the Ben Stokes incident dominating the discussion and making the English into experts at avoiding the prickly questions.
With Stokes’ inclusion in the tour-squad, England has a very strong side, led by Joe Root, that deserves to have some confidence of winning the series in hostile territory. The Australian team, however, are reliable performers across the Australian summer and are favourites to win the Urn back.
As always, complete coverage of the series will be on free-to-air TV live via Channel Nine. Their coverage will begin roughly an hour before the first ball on most days, so for the first Test, it should be around 10am AEDT.
If you want to live stream The Ashes, then you’ll be looking to do so via the Cricket Australia Live Pass. You can pay $5.99 to get a one-day pass for live streaming, but if you plan on watching a lot of the series you’ll get better value out of the $29.99 365-day pass.
Also, The Roar will be covering the game with a live blog and score updates for a more subtle option for those following the match from the work desk.
