There are four games left, but still no clear-cut positions on the ladder.

In this article, I will outline which teams your team will face against as well as what I predict their final position will be.

Sydney FC
They have lost two straight A-League matches. This could be a third straight loss considering that Central Coast are the only team in the A-League so far they haven’t beaten.

However, Central Coast has shown how vulnerable they can be in recent fixtures.

Perth haven’t been able to score a goal against Sydney in their past four A-League clashes. Their table position doesn’t give me much confidence that it’s going to change.

Adelaide, with nearly the whole team out, managed to hold on for a draw against this ‘top side’. They also lost to Brisbane, who are lower than Adelaide, at home which gives Adelaide a little faith.

Sydney FC play the ‘Big Blue’ last, against a five star Victory who put five against Central Coast, the easy beats that Sydney haven’t been able to beat until perhaps this weekend.

Prediction: 1st, D, W, W, L, 59 points

Newcastle Jets
Newcastle firstly have an away against an Adelaide side with an unbeaten run. They should make the most of that and win by a goal or two, especially with Ronny Vargas and Patito Rodriguez returning.

Then, the second team will have to play against Melbourne City, a team which they failed to beat in their last three outings. It will be an important one to win for Newcastle as well if they want to catch Sydney.

They have the Glory away third, who are eighth on the table for a reason. Newcastle should win comfortably, however in their last match in Newcastle, Adam Taggart denied them victory by scoring a brace, including a goal in the 92nd minute.

They have the F3 derby last and have won the past two outings, outscoring their rivals 7-1 in that span. With them just above the wooden spoon, it would be rational to put your money on Newcastle.

Prediction: 2nd W, D, W, W, 57 points

Melbourne Victory
I would actually tip Melbourne Victory to win all their last four games, against Perth Glory away, the Wanderers at home, the Nix at home, and this form will set them up for the Big Blue which they will win as well.

All of these three previous teams haven’t set the A-League on fire. It’s early, but I would consider winning them the first final as well and being serious title contenders.

Prediction: 3rd W, W, W, W, 47 points

Melbourne City
Unlike Melbourne Victory, City’s form hasn’t been too flashy, and they face an evenly matched Wanderers side which did, however, manage to put four past Wellington. City might not do the same, but in their backyard, I would tip for a draw.

I would tip for another draw against the Jets, considering their recent form against them. Against the Mariners, I bet that if Melbourne City loses a man and happen trail 1-0, it will end as a 2-2 draw. If that doesn’t happen, Melbourne can expect to win comfortably.

City finally have Phoenix away from home, and they should win that one easily enough.

Prediction: 4th D, D, W, W, 42 points

Adelaide United
Adelaide have been in poor form in the past four games, some which have been critical for playing finals. The return of Johan Absalonsen looks promising, as he scored the opening goal against City, which was a better performance than a costly 1-0 loss against Brisbane.

They have a poor record against the Newcastle Jets, losing three of their last four clashes 2-1. I predict the same scoreline, with Absalonsen scoring another goal.

In fact, none of the last nine meetings between the two have been decided by more than a single goal. Next, they have Wellington which is pretty much a must win at home.

I predict they will, 1-0 or 2-0. Adelaide have the premiers and next away. I would predict Sydney to win, as Adelaide haven’t beaten them and failed to score against them in their past two seasons.

However, they have held them to a goalless draw on a couple of occasions. I would predict Sydney 1-0.

The final match is against the Wanderers, which is a real six-pointer. Adelaide cannot afford to lose this match if they want to play finals. Would tip for a draw, the spoils will be shared.

Will predict that one team will lead 2-0 at halftime, then it will be 2-2 full time.

Prediction: 6th L, W, L, D, 34 points.

Western Sydney Wanderers
Western Sydney faces against the two Melbourne clubs, and both away. I’m predicting a loss to the Victory and a 1-1 draw to City. Perhaps the reason why I predict a loss to Victory is Victory’s recent form, and they lost 3-0 at home in their last clash.

The Wanderers have two must-win clashes against Brisbane and Adelaide, which are trying to make finals as well. They are home games, but I’ll tip in for a draw in both of these desperate matches.

Prediction: 7th D, L, D, D, 33 points

Brisbane Roar
Brisbane faces the bottom three teams with one game at home and two away, and the Wanderers away from home. They should probably win two and draw two. Would say that Perth will draw with them, as they are currently only one spot below them, and it’s away.

Prediction: 5th W, W, D, D, 36 points
