Roger Federer will be back in action on Day 3 at Wimbledon when he takes on a somewhat in-form Lukas Lacko in the second round. Join The Roar for live scores from 11pm (AEST)

The World No.1 and best grass court player in the history of the game had another strong lead-up to a grand slam he has won eight times and looks to be in good touch.

Federer’s only loss during the grass court season came in the final at Halle, when he lost to Borna Coric. While that may have shaken his confidence up just a little bit, the Fed Express has been very good after following the pattern of last year and skipping all of the clay court events.

The Swiss maestro game then came out in the first round at the All England Club and put Dusan Lajovic to the sword, winning 6-1, 6-3, 6-4.

On the other side of the coin, Lukas Lacko, who is something of a journeyman, put on a solid display in the first round to remove Benjamin Bonzi from the tournament in four sets.

While getting a win in the first round was always going to set him up for this date with Federer, the Slovakian has been in good form throughout the grass court season.

After having to qualify in Halle, he went to Eastbourne, getting one over the likes of Diego Schwartzman, Marco Cecchinato and Cameron Norrie to make the final, where he ultimately fell short against Mischa Zverev.

Prediction
Lacko has been in quite good form, but there is being in good form, and then there is beating a player of Federer’s stature. This will be about as one-sided as any match you’d get from Federer.
