It’s all or nothing for Queensland tonight for Origin 3 in Brisbane.

It’s time to save face with the series already won by NSW, who have not won since 2014. The other option is to be completely embarrassed by NSW with a whitewash of Queensland, something which has not happened since the 2000 Origin series.

Tonight could very well be the first time in the new century for the Blues to achieve the 3-0.

With Billy Slater, one of the best players to ever don a Maroons jersey and certainly the best ever fullback for the Maroons, retiring tonight with his first and last game as captain, the Maroons will need to pull out all the stops to ensure that Billy is sent off a winner at home at Suncorp.

Daly Cherry-Evans will certainly be out to prove the point he is worthy of his selection in the Queensland side, despite many giving the opinion that DCE has been set up for failure so that his name will be stuck off the selection list for good.

Both NSW coach Brad Fittler and Queensland Kevin Walters would be looking to complete their year of firsts this Origin year. Fittler will obviously by looking to have his first year as coach end in a white wash, something not seen since 1995 when Paul Vautin took the Maroons’ young guns without their Super League stars to the ultimate 3-0 victory over NSW, in what was one of the best Origin series ever.

Though the series is already won and NSW are the champions, I would be very cautious about writing off Queensland tonight. With so much on the line tonight, in trying save face, send Slater out a winner and DCE been given one last chance to prove that he is worthy of the Queensland jumper, it will probably be the game of the series put on tonight.
