Don't write off the Aussies: Lessons from 1987

The Nrl is dying a very slow painful death and its by their own hand. With the incompetent mor0ns in charge that are afraid of expansion of the game, don’t even have the basic knowledge that a six year would have in regards to the teams and where they come from and shooting grass roots completely in the foot doesn’t help. While the AFL’s expansion into the Gold Coast and western Sydney are been successful yet not gained a flag as yet, how the NRL’s last and most successful expansion team being the Melbourne storm, formula has not been copied for another expansion team in Adeliade or Perth is a mystery to me. The NRL has proven that expansion teams work quite well if done probably (Storm and Broncos and even the Cowboys) so why not do the same in SA or WA. It’s a simple formula, pay the best available talent to relocate to the city, build a team and have then win a premiership (fix it if you have to, it’s be done before) within four years and watch the money roll in, simple. Instead of the NRL wasting 3 million a year on the bunker, maybe they should invest in another team in sa or wa

Rumours of the NRL's death are greatly exaggerated

the force is not strong with this one

This subject has been the topic of rugby league talk all week and will no doubt to done again on 100% footy tonight. It obviously is the only bias that Queensland has over the rugby league world as the Dally M and Immortals awards are all determined by NSWmen. It’s very simple, QLD doesnt want a grubby Blues player wining there award, plain and simple, so hands off NSW, you aint getting our award. But i do agree that a token award to a retiring member who’s career is greater than most, does not need a token award to diminish the award and the receipt.

Awards in rugby league: There has to be a better way

In all honesty that should of happened after he played his 300th against the sharks, or even last year. I visit Townsville quite regularly for my job and have even caught a couple of games at smiles. Watching him get bashed pillar to post laying on the ground for about half a minute and then get slowly to his feet is not a fantastic sight to watch. When speaking to the locals regarding Thurston they all say the same thing, that he played one season too many

All or nothing for QLD in Origin 3

also, Jim Cornette on his podcast has said that the UFC is the most popular pro wrestling company in the world. Well when you use all the promo tactics from the 80’s and 90’s of pro wrestling that work better than anything does today, of course you will be.

Theatrics stand out as the ticket for the UFC to generate profits

Theatrics, has always been, a huge way of promoting any fight, and the was greatest was Muhammad Ali. Obviously this was all staged as it was pre-announced that Lesnar would fight the winner of the heavyweight bout. (Don’t know how Vince MacMahon the WWE feel about it, but Lesnar has a co-promotion clause in his WWE contract) Personally staged or not (clearly it was) Lesnar will wipe the floor with DC, Lesnar is too big and strong and rioded up to lose. cant wait to see that fight thougjh
