Huge shake-up at Team Arrow McLaren for the rest of the IndyCar season: Pourchaire in, Malukas out
Theo Pourchaire replaces David Malukas, who got injured and then fired before he could even sit in the car.
The grid for the Bathurst 1000 will be locked in on Saturday afternoon when the top ten from qualifying go on a one-lap dash in the shootout. This is The Roar‘s guide to streaming the shootout online or watching it on TV.
The shootout is set to get underway at 5:10pm (AEST) on Saturday, October 6, taking place at one of the most famous race tracks in the world – the Mount Panorama Circuit at Bathurst in the west of New South Wales.
While the majority of the grid was set on Friday afternoon with qualifying, the shootout will determine the top ten places for the race, with the front row a sought-after objective for every driver in the field.
Even though 1000 kilometres offers plenty of time for change, early crashes often happen in the middle of the field and it’s very rare a team will win from outside the top ten.
The shootout will be broadcast on two channels in Australia.
The best option is to tune in through Fox Sports. They have had a dedicated 24/7 Bathurst channel for the past week which will be live for the shootout. It can be found through Foxtel on Channel 506.
Their coverage on the Saturday will run for the majority of the day, however, attention will turn to the Supercars from about 4:45pm (AEST) ahead of the shootout. They will remain on the air post-race until 6:30pm (AEST), although this is subject to change.
To watch the coverage on Fox Sports, you will need to have a valid Foxtel TV subscription complete with the sports package.
To watch the coverage on free-to-air TV, you will need to tune into the Ten Network. Like Fox, they will be on air for most of the day. Being free-to-air TV, there will be ad breaks on Ten, whereas Fox will be ad-free for the entirety of the shootout.
Like the race broadcast itself, there will be two options to stream the shootout online.
The first of those is to use one of Foxtel’s dedicated streaming applications – either Foxtel Now or the Foxtel App.
Foxtel Now is the better option to use if you don’t already have a TV subscription, while the app can be used for those with a TV package already in place.
You can also live stream the top ten shootout through TenPlay.
Here at The Roar, we will have you covered with a live blog and all the times of the shootout as they come in, as well as all the highlights of the big moments.
