All eyes will be on Australia’s two most well-known male tennis players as Nick Kyrgios and Bernard Tomic clash on Day 2 of the 2019 Kooyong Classic.
The second day of the tournament is set to begin at 11am on Wednesday, January 9, with the Kyrgios-Tomic match to start at approximately 1pm (AEDT).
The Kooyong Classic is one of the more relaxed events on the Australian tennis calendar, with the exhibition matches not counting towards official rankings.
However, it’s also the last opportunity for players involved to tune up before the Australian Open, so the matches will still be played with great intensity.
For Tomic and Kyrgios, this will the be the first time Australia’s controversial tennis stars face off professionally.
They were supposed to clash in last year’s French Open, only for Kyrgios to pull out due to injury.
The entirety of the Kooyong Classic is being broadcast on free-to-air channel SBS. Their coverage begins at 11am (AEDT) each day and concludes at 5pm.
Coverage should take place on the main SBS channel in all regions, but check your local listings to make sure.
SBS’ coverage will encompass the entire day’s play at Kooyong. There will be no special pre-game or post-game coverage for the Tomic-Kyrgios match.
If you’d prefer to live stream the tennis, you’ll be able to do so via SBS’ streaming service, known as SBS On Demand.
SBS On Demand allows you to stream SBS television content on your preferred desktop or mobile device for free. You will have to create an account to use the service but, once again, it is free.
SBS On Demand is only available to stream within Australia.
