It’s the biggest Test of the Australian summer, with Australia taking on New Zealand in the Boxing Day Test at the MCG. This is The Roar’s guide to live streaming the big game, or watching it on TV.

The match will start on Thursday, December 26, with the first ball scheduled to be bowled at 10:30am (AEDT). Each day of play is scheduled to end at 5:30pm, although rain, slow over rates or other interruptions may see that time slide back to 6pm.

If the match goes all five days, it will end on Monday, December 30.

How to watch the Boxing Day Test on TV

You’ll have two options if you want to watch the Boxing Day Test on TV – Fox Cricket or Channel 7.

Fox Cricket – available through Foxtel channel 501 – only runs ads during breaks between sessions, with their ball-to-ball coverage remaining uninterrupted. However, you will need to have a valid Foxtel TV subscription with sports included to access Fox Cricket.

For free-to-air viewers, Channel 7 will also have live coverage. Check your local listings to check whether the cricket is on 7 itself, or 7Mate, as it may move around the channels depending on your state and timezone.

Both networks will have coverage beginning at 9:30am (AEDT) on each day of the Test.

How to stream the Boxing Day Test online

If you’d prefer to live stream the Boxing Day Test, you’ll also have two options to do so.

The best option is easily Kayo Sports, a sports streaming service that lets you watch almost any Foxtel sporting content (including the cricket) on your preferred device. A Kayo subscription costs $25 a month, but you may be eligible for a free trial.

The other option to stream is via Foxtel GO. If you’re already a Foxtel subscriber, this is included as part of your package. Otherwise, you’ll need to subscribe to the service.

Channel 7’s streaming services do not include their cricket coverage.

As always, though, The Roar will keep you updated on all the action at the MCG, with a live blog, video highlights, expert analysis and opinion from fans just like you.
