It’s the final nobody saw coming.

Home favourite Ashleigh Barty’s conqueror Sofia Kenin takes on unseeded 2-time Grand Slam champion Garbine Muguruza in the women’s decider on Saturday evening, with the victor to claim a maiden Australian Open title.

This is The Roar‘s guide to streaming the big match online, or watching it on TV.

The match is scheduled to begin at 7:30pm (AEDT) at Rod Laver Arena, and as always, will run indefinitely until a player has claimed two sets.

With Wimbledon and Roland Garros titles already under her belt, Muguruza will be aiming to become the first Spanish woman to lift the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup, and just the second overall after men’s superstar Rafael Nadal.

21-year old Sofia Kenin is featuring in her first Grand Slam final, but the American was certainly impressive in knocking over world No.1 Barty in a tight semi-final on Thursday.

How to watch the tournament on TV

Channel Nine are the sole Australian rights holders for the tournament – their coverage of the event will begin at 7pm (AEDT) and will feature all the post-match speeches and interviews from players and tournament officials.

The final will be broadcast on Nine’s main channel, while also being simulcast on Nine HD, or Channel 90.

How to stream the tournament online

If you don’t have access to a TV or prefer to watch the match online, again, Nine is your sole option.

Fortunately, the 9Now app and website will be broadcasting the game live. Simply download the 9Now app on your preferred device, or failing that, head to 9now.com.au, create your free account and start watching.

On the app, clicking on the live ‘Channel 9’ feed will provide the main TV commentary, while clicking on the ‘Kenin vs Muguruza’ option will give you access to Tennis Australia’s own commmentary team.
