Cricket’s governing body will consider introducing day-night Test matches and review a system that allows players to call for television reviews when it meets this week in London.
The ICC Cricket Committee will also discuss steps to improve over rates in international cricket, regulations governing bad light and whether there should be a maximum weight of bats, the ICC said in statement.
While day-night matches were introduced in one-day international cricket three decades ago, Test matches have always been played in daylight.
The committee will also discuss steps to boost one-day cricket amid the growing popularity of the Twenty20 format, the statement said.
The results of the recent trial of the television review system will form a key part of the ICC agenda, it said. The meeting will be held in London on Monday and Tuesday.
The trial, which gave players the opportunity to ask for umpire decisions to be reviewed by the TV umpire, took place in four Test series during the past nine months.
The meeting will be chaired by former West Indies captain Clive Lloyd and include former Test players Mark Taylor, Ranjan Madugalle and Simon Taufel.
The committee will send its recommendations for approval to the Chief Executives’ Committee and the ICC Board, which are scheduled to meet in June.
