WATCH: 'Another banger!' This might be Luka Doncic's most outrageous moment yet
Ridiculous yet again from the Mavericks star!
Wow! Now that was entertainment.
Zach ‘The Bounce’ LaVine and Aaron ‘G Wave’ Gordon have put on the greatest slam dunk contest in NBA history, even eclipsing the legendary 1988 contest between Michael ‘Air’ Jordan and ‘The Human Highlight Film’ Dominique Wilkins.
The NBA knows how to put on a show. You could feel the atmosphere through the T.V screen.
The crowd where going nuts and the players courtside where out of their seats after every magical dunk.
It took six rounds to split the two space walkers, with LaVine taking the trophy home for the second year in a row. LaVine – a second year player with the Minnesota Timberwolves – went into this year’s contest as the hot favourite and didn’t disappoint.
He is an incredible athlete whose array of dunks over the last two years have made him the greatest dunker of all time.
Young Orlando Magic Forward Aaron Gordon’s performance caught most people by surprise. His fourth dunk defied belief. After grabbing the ball from atop ‘Stuff’ the mascot’s head, he brings the ball under both legs and stuffs it in the hole with his left hand.
This dunk gets better every time you watch it and has to go down as the greatest dunk ever.
In slow motion replay Aaron Gordon’s reverse jam in the sixth round looked worthy of a perfect score but the judges disagreed, scoring the dunk a 47 out of 50.
This opened the door for LaVine to take flight from near the free throw line. He took the ball under his legs and throw it down to secure another perfect 50 score and the title.
This was sports entertainment at its over the top best.
