3RD ROUND – Let’s hope Mosley does some more and as I type Mosley lands a great left hand that buckles Mundine. Mosley now firmly on the front foot and in a matter of seconds the tide has turned. Mundine scores well with the jab again, now doubles it up which flings Mosley into the ropes. Mundine scoring again, putting his punches together. Mosley is just sitting and waiting right in front of Mundine. Mundine again with the right hand and again with the left. Mosley cant seem to find his range and is simply wanting to load up the right hand. Mundine has the first three rounds here. MUNDINE 10-9

it does tend to ride up a little in fights. generally no matter how high it is, the referee will signify where a ‘good’ punch is in relation a low blow

2ND ROUND – Mundine comes out firing the jab once more. Mosley scores well to the body. Both engage in a clinch and Mosley returns straight back to the body. Mundine rocks Mosley a little with the jab. Mosley fires up the right hand but Mundine gets out of harms way. Mosley looks very slow and laboured, not really letting his hands go. Mundine is certainly dictating terms at the moment and this is what judges look for when scoring. Mosley simply is not working hard enough in there. Mundine wins another round for mine. MUNDINE 10-9

1st round We’re off for Round One and Mosley races out to the middle of the ring. Mundine fires the first jab and Mundine certainly looks the bigger fighter here. Mundine snaps a quick jab, but it is mainly a feeling out period. Both men exchange to the body and Mundine is warned for pushing Mosley’s head down and Mosley starts the clinch. Mosley looks for a big hook over the top but Mundine swivels away nicely. Fairly tentative start from both. Mundine’s jab looks on song, as Mosley returns the favour. Tempo is a little slow, but first rouns is always a feeling out period. I’d give first round to Mundine, his jab scored nicely there. MUNDINE 10-9

Tonight is Mundine’s 50th pro fight- record stands at 44-5-0, this fight though is probably his most important, it is certainly do or die here. Mosley on the other hand has had 57 fights, for a record of 47-8-1. He’s a Six time world champion across three weight classes. Here we go people!

‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley is next out and he’s met with a mixed reaction, with a splattering of boos initially. Mosley stops to hug his partner on the way to the ring, which is interesting. Mosley certainly looking relaxed let’s hope not as relaxed as Roy Jones!

Anthony Mundine is the first fighter to make his way out to the ring for our main event. WBA international light middleweight title on the line. Mundine is met by his usual mixed response with a few more cheers than expected. Mundine of course coming off a loss to Daniel Geale earlier this year.

Here are the scorecards 37-39, 37-39, 37-39, all to Luke Turner, which is how I had the fight. Turner has upset Ferguson and I hate to say I told you so, but I was on the money!! $$$$$

Mundine vs Mosley: Fight preview, live updates, round-by-round scores plus undercard

Into the last round, Turner can put on his skates and just keep it clean but Turner and Ferguson both comes out swinging. Ferguson is desperate and lands a big right hand that shakes up Turner. Ferguson may have punched himself out though as he now seems to just be loading up his right hand. Turner just needs to stay tidy and he should walk away with the decision. Turner comes back at Ferguson and lands a couple of nice shots. 20 second to go and Ferguson lines up for a final flurry, seconds tick away and Ferguson is going to rung out of time as Turner finishes the fight with Ferguson against the ropes. Not a great fight, but entertaining to watch. Cant see Ferguson winning it, although I’d give him the last. Ferguson 10-9.

We start the 3rd round, I’ve got Turner up by two rounds so Ferguson needs to get busy. Ferguson has started the 3rd with this in mind, but Ferguson was certainly blowing between rounds and you can see he is starting to grow tired. Turner looks the fresher and he is throwing the better shots, Ferguson isn’t throwing anything, he just seems out of gas. Turner isn’t landing flush on Ferguson but at least he is throwing, which helps in the eyes of the judges. End of the 3rd and you just cant give Ferguson a round given his lack of activity. 10-9 Turner.

Into the second round we go, 4 x 2 minute rounds in this one, which is typical of a debut. Ferguson has no technique whatsoever, wish I could jumped in with him on my debut! Sting has gone out of this one a little as both men start to take some big breaths. Ferguson fighting on the back foot whilst Turner is coming forward and brining the fight to him. Ferguson very very tentative and not throwing a lot at all, he is prepared to wait and pick his shots, but I’d give that one to Turner again. More aggressive and controlling the ring. 10-9 Turner.

Ferguson looking very relaxed as we get underway in this one. Turner looks quite nervous which is not unexpected. Ferguson with a big reach and height advantage. Turner wastes no time coming forward, Ferguson looking tentative and looks content to ease his way into this one. Turner lands a nice shot to Ferguson and Ferguson has his hands very low. Turner is bringing the fight to Ferguson as Ferguson decides to turn it into a pub brawl and just swing to the fence leaving the defence at the door. Ferguson throws a couple of punches after the bell. I’d give the round to Turner though. 10-9 Turner.

Blake Ferguson makes his way to the ring. Both fighters making their professional debut. Ferguson has Solomon Haumono in his corner along with his trainer Tony Mundine.

Here we go, fighters on their way for our semi main event. Luke Turner making his way to the ring to take on Blake Ferguson.

Mundine vs Mosley: Fight preview, live updates, round-by-round scores plus undercard

One fight to go until the big main event and of course that is Blake Ferguson up against Luke Turner. Turner was paying $5 at one point and having seen Ferguson on the pads, I wouldn’t mind a bit of that $5. Ferguson is clearly a novice and needs some work. He keeps his hands quite low and they don’t always come back to the chin, so he is open to a big puncher, which I’m told Turner is. Most of the rugby league players we’ve seen in the ring have had the advantage given their natural fitness and fact they are 100% professional, but remember Ferguson hasn’t had a club for a number of months. Will be very intriguing, that one is up next.

Here is the official decision – scorecards are in and they read, 79-74, 77-75, 78-74, to Renold Quinlan. I don’t think I gave Kwadjo a round but some of them were really close, but no doubt Quinlan is your winner.

Mundine vs Mosley: Fight preview, live updates, round-by-round scores plus undercard

Into the 8th and final round we go and surprised that we got here. Kwadjo knows he is behind on the scorecards and is throwing the kitchen sink at Quinlan is search of the knockout he needs. Kwadjo has not been stopped in 28 fights and you can see why. Quinlan is still on the inside landing some nice shots but you can see he doesn’t want to risk getting knocked out in the final round given he is comfortably winning on the scorecards. We go into the final sixty seconds and Quinlan has slipped to the outside and getting behind his jab. Both men come together in a clinch and Quinlan is finishing the stronger of the two, maybe he hasn’t given up hope of a late KO. The bell sounds to end the fight and it has been a beauty! Both men will be sore in the morning! Quinlan on points here you’d imagine

Mundine vs Mosley: Fight preview, live updates, round-by-round scores plus undercard

Both men come out swinging in the 7th round and you have to wonder how both of these guys are still fighting away. Both men have taken some big shots and they are not letting up in the 7th. Quinlan lands a big shot as Kwadjo again stumbles, and comes back swinging. I’d hate to see what you have to do to stop this man, he has a chin of granite. Quinlan 10-9

Mundine vs Mosley: Fight preview, live updates, round-by-round scores plus undercard

Round 6 and who have thought we’d get to this point given the action we’ve seen in the opening rounds. Quinlan certainly looks the fresher and is landing some huge shots but Kwadjo is so tough, he gets caught flush on the chin and just stands there asking for more! Kwadjo has really slowed though and he isn’t firing a lot back at Quinlan. Quinlan seems to just be waiting for the opportunity to put him away and doesn’t need to do anything silly given he is ahead on the cards. 10-9 Quinlan.

Mundine vs Mosley: Fight preview, live updates, round-by-round scores plus undercard

Off and going again in the 5th round and Quinlan assumes control again, rocking Kwadjo with a big uppercut. Kwadjo starting to really tire and I cant see this fight going the distance. There is no denying Kwadjo’s toughness though as he continues coming forward and loading up that right hand. Kwadjo starting to look to hold and catch a break here and there, Quinlan lands a couple of nice shots as Kwadjo gets a little bit lazy in defence. We end the 5th round and it’s another round to Quinlan. 10-9 Quinlan.

Mundine vs Mosley: Fight preview, live updates, round-by-round scores plus undercard

Round 4 starts just as we’ve seen in every other round so far, not a lot of science about it, but plenty of bad intentions behind each shot. Quinlan is doing some serious body work and it seems to be slowing Kwadjo down significantly. Quinlan looking to press the advantage as Kwadjo comes forward looking for that big knockout shot, but he throws wide and Quinlan makes the most of the opportunity. Again both men go to the bell swinging wild. Quinlan 10-9 again.

Mundine vs Mosley: Fight preview, live updates, round-by-round scores plus undercard

Kwadjo again comes out firing and lands a nice shot right off the bat. Quinlan landing some nice shots in return. Both men throwing some serious leather at one another. Quinlan decides to get back to basics and lands a couple of nice jabs that land flush, whilst Kwajo doesn’t seem to blink an eye. Kwadjo is loading up with the right hand and lands with a big bomb that rocks Quinlan. Now Quinlan nails Kwadjo with a big uppercut up the middle and a couple of body shots sends him to the canvas. Kwadjo goes down but unsure whether it’s ruled a slip or a knockdown, surely it’s a knockdown, but no it’s ruled a slip. Kwadjo struggles to survive the round but does so and it’s another 10-9 round to Quinlan.

Mundine vs Mosley: Fight preview, live updates, round-by-round scores plus undercard

Round 2 now Kwadjo starts off firing some big shots. Quinlan is on shaky legs and is hanging on for dear life whilst he tries to get his legs back. Quinlan fires a couple back and now both men are going toe to toe. Quinlan catches Kwadjo with a huge right hand and Kwadjo looks like he is going to go down, but what a chin he has as he wears four shots to the chin as Quinlan opens up. Now Kwadjo backs Quinlan against the ropes again as he starts to get a bit lazy. Now Quinlan comes back in the final seconds. What a round, great fight, great action. Quinlan the busier so he gets the round here. Quinlan 10-9
