Apelu Tielu read all the comments its not just me who think this guy is good.

3 clever flick passes and not much else doesn’t qualify Chambers as a rising star IMO. Horne’s been playing like he has for a few years now including the S14 finals against Crusaders. In his debut year he kept dual international Tahu on the bench. He has also been a wallaby tourist and I think would of been more if not for injuries. Diggers could do the job but he’s no specialist 13. In defence diggers might hit harder but horne is the better defender and I believe reads the game better.

I love QLD pride, win more than they loose for the first time in a decade and all of a sudden we have to pick the whole backline in the wallabies accoding to diggers himself.

Horne a perfect fit for Wallabies No 13 jumper

I did say “possibly ever”. Tim Horan was a gun in every aspect of his game. I think Horne is very Horan-esque…. For instance they both have superb porn names 😉

lol @ Mrs Horne.

That I am not. I’m just sick and tired of the debate over a position that can only go to one man.

NOTE TO ARU: Forget Gasnier or Ingles, spend more money on Rugby grass roots. We have a 4 possible 13s in O’Connor, AAC, Diggers and Horne!

How about speeding the game up. Sitting through 30minutes of scrums so that the purist (*shudder*) can hold on to a format of the game that the mainstream find hard to stomach will never get T.V deals. If you want the mainstream to embrace rugby then you will need to reduce numbers on the field (eg. 6man scrums) and get rid of 3 point penalties/field goals.

Rugby League/AFL/Football speed is leaving Rugby behind. If we keep pandering to old fuddy duddies then the game will keep dying the slow death.

What the national rugby competition will look like

I hope that he goes with Ioane to start with Horne on the bench…

Mortlock ruled out for two Tests

LeftArmSpinner – lol, your as a bad as a woman scorned.

Sharks still dangerous, says Hickey

best winger = turner

The Ins and Outs of the Wallabies squad

Ben C. Horne in a rough patch or a dry patch? His defence is superb. Playford showed us just how little it takes to get it completely wrong in a line of defence, he was aweful.

When horne gets the ball he is electrifying. You do know that he has the 2nd fastest Waratah 40m sprint record of all time. 1st is Tiquri 5 years ago. So yes, he’s faster than lachie.

To everyone else. How can you possibly leave our best winger off the Wallaby team. Tahs would be running last without our no.1 try scorer this season.

The Ins and Outs of the Wallabies squad

Coaching strategy disgrace # 1 is kicking strategy.
Coaching strategy disgrace # 2 is this one out crap thats going on in the backline. Put the ball through the hands people! We are starving some of the best attackers in the game (Lachie/Lote/Horne) of ball.
Coaching strategy disgrace # 3 is beale. He has no place on a rugby field tackling the way he does. Get this guy out of our team until he learns how to defend. The crowning glory of this horrible coaching staff is taking one of our best performers/best defenders/best kicker/best high ball catcher (Sam Norton-Knight) and replacing him with THE WORST DEFENDER IN HISTORY (Beale). What the hell was that tackle on the sideline where he simply fell over their winger (staniforth or shepard)…. My grandmother could defend better than that.
Coaching strategy disgrace # 4 – Benching the wallaby halfback to put on an extra forward. If sheehan is even the 2nd best half back in NSW, and I don’t believe he is, I wouldn’t put him on before Burgess

The Waratahs are a disgrace

Bay35Pablo. Right on… can’t say enough about how well the Forwards are doing without some of the stars

…. Big things for the tahs if we can hold onto lachie, waugh and our young future stars.

Home games key for Tahs' finals chances

Hard for Horne to get in form when he’s getting first phase ball. He hasn’t had a 1 on 1 opportunity all season. Other than a bombed try, its hard to say that he’s out of form but rather not getting an opportunity. I agree with benching Lote, he was lazy at times when he was chasing down the kicks.

Why not start Turner/Beale at full back and give Tahu a start on the wing with Sam Norton-Knight up 5/8.

Turner, Tuqiri or Tahu: who's the odd man out?

Contrary to popular belief, I rarely see Burgess hitting the No.10 bread basket. When you are pulling the ball down from the heavens or up from the depths of hell the set play is ruined right there because you have given up the advantage line. Burgess is fantastic in broken play, no doubt, but until he can start passing into people’s chests, what use is he in a set play. Why not start with Sheehan and then bring Burgo on. I think that in the latter parts of the game when Burgo’s scavenging will be of most use is the best time to bring him on for now. In the meantime, if we could start with sheehan and finally see Halangahu hit the ball going forwards we might see Horne get the ball for once this season.

The Waratahs: the team we love to bag [pt 2]

Unfair to compare 12 vs 13 tackling percentages when its so much easier to defend at 12.

Can the Waratahs beat the Eden Park hoodoo?

Hes been given 12years + 2years in S14 to get defense right. The man can’t tackle to save his life. I disgaree about the ticker, I think he’s got plenty as I’ve never seen him shy away. I think the problem is that when you start playing in the first XV at age 15, you are tackling 17year olds sometimes twice your size. The result is that the flankers work overtime protecting the young star and the young star tackles the way he does now – by holding on up top until somebody else arrives.

I also disagree about his kicking and passing, I think he is a wonderful talent. It’s just the pressure that is getting to him. Experience will fix this, but only coaching will help the tackling. How quick everyone is to forget just how good Beale can be in the kicking, passing (and general offensive flair department) when things are going right for him. I’ve seen him demolish teams in schoolboys.

His tackling is woeful. And for the record, James O’Connor is hype town as much as Beale was. Lets let the children turn into men without putting too much pressure on them too early.

Has Kurtley Beale ever been coached properly?

Tahu adds an all new level of attack, he just seems to have minutes of time on the ball. When he doesn’t get lost numbering up in defense he’s a hard hitting tackler. Problem is when there isn’t someone near him to give directions or a map, big holes open up. I think that Hickey is worried about putting Super14’s worst defender in history – Beale – with Tahu at the same time. Carter

Loosing Scott Fava is no big deal. Palu on the other hand is a game changer.

Mortlock pumps up undefeated Tahs

Chris Latham? Give me a break. He is in the Beale school of defending.

Sounds like the consensus is for more hype, so here it is. Within 2 years, Rob Horne will be the next Brian Lima of world rugby.

Mortlock – Yeah he was awesome, but I think his time is over and given that Tahu is getting a run in the Wallaby squad and horne is keeping him on the bench, I think that Horne will get a run.

When will Rob Horne make the Wallabies?

I am all down for it. But let’s not call it “State of Origin” because the players aren’t playing for the State of Origin like the League players do.

Let's have a Rugby Union State of Origin

I’ll go one further on Rob Horne, not only do I think he is the Mortlock replacement in the Australian Squad, I think he is going to be an International superstar that is gonna be one of quite a few up and coming wallabies (Beale, O’Connor, Cooper) in the No.1 spot again.

Australian rugby: the early-season report card

I completely agree. I’d like to add.

– Forwards faking an injury to get the clock stopped.
When did we turn into a bunch of girly soccer players that roll all over the floor so that everyone can get a breather. Why should the game stop because of someone needs a massage from a trainer. By the time you have some forward ‘looked at’ by a trainer, set the scrum, reset the scrum, argument between the umpire and forwards, reset the scrum, it’s been 10minutes. Why are we paying $58 a ticket to see 30minutes of scrums and being dealyed by 15minutes worth of forwards that need a drink of water.

Schoolboy rugby better to watch than Waratahs
