Thank god there’s some resets – my heart’s pounding!
So what happened was McKenzie broke, with someone or other in support to his right. Horne was chasing. Phipps and Robinson caught up. McKenzie passes it outside to his support, but Horne knocks that down. The ball goes back to McKenzie, who soccers it back inside, but Robinson swoops down on that. He’s got Phipps in support, but he’s ingoal and it’s too dangerous. He tries to get out but is pinned down.
We’ve had two penalties in a row, but Peyper hasn’t said anything about cynical play. One was called because the ball couldnt get out of the ruck

Oh my lord. So the Waratahs are hammering away, really close to the Crusaders line. The defence is holding, but a flashy inside switch to Folau is knocked on.
The Crusaders jump out, and plan to clear it out. But Mo’unga, close to getting chopped down, passes in the try area to Dagg, who passes it right to McKenzie (everyone just skipping past tackles) who finds himself in a 2 v 1 situation against Rob Horne. So, he runs all the way down the field, and a kick in goal (Robinson and Phipps catch up) results in Reece Robinson getting tackled in goal, so 5m scrum to the Crusaders

Wahey! What’s this? The Waratahs win a lineout (their own though) and actually make some dangerous metres – 60m perhaps? In only a few phases. However the attack comes to a disappointing end as an absent scrummie means Ellis soccer kicks the loose ruck ball away, and the Crusaders turn it over. Thankfully, a forward pass in the counter attack ends that for the Crusaders

Coming into this game, it looked apparent to everyone that the Crusaders would comfortably beat the Waratahs.
So far, that’s what’s been on.
However, the rain makes everything interesting. It brings the Crusaders down to Tahs level (hehe). The thing about NZ rugby, as always compared to Australian rugby, is that they take their chances. That’s definitely happened tonight, so far. They’ve also had their luck about them – Read smashing Phipps before the line and popping the ball out – but as wise people like my boy Rugby Tragic like to say, you make your own luck,
It’s been a bit hard to point out any individuals, such has been the fully hectic nature of the game, but Phipps as machpants mentioned below, has to regather himself both on a discipline basis and a distribution basis.
