Could the Poms be rueing the decision to ask their curators to prepare flat tracks all summer?
Still a lot to play out in the game, but the old brigade of legs could stumble. Close to 200 extra overs is tiring for them.
India has done this to the Aussies before.Make them bowl and bowl.
Will the Poms accept a beating if Australia win, or even draw the game. Either of those results is a win for Australia ..A win is a 3/1 to Australia. A draw is a 2/1 to Australia.
Maybe the knives will be being sharpened as BAzz Ball departs .
An interesting night ahead.

UK View: Same old England, always raining - ‘Didn’t look like getting a wicket, clutching at straws’

Really!!!! I mean really!!
Fremantle avoiding all the mheat from the Media in WA.Does this fella even live in WA?
Obviosly he is clever enough to not read the the Daily Rag, other wise known as the Wesy Coast Australian.
has this anonymous author nor read the sniping that comes from The Sniper!!! Maybe he is The Sniper.
Has he not read the shull bit articles relating to the problems made up by their writers.I won’t call then journos , because that they aint.
He bemoans the Yellas injuries, but fails to mention that most were caused bu players being unfit, out of shape , maybe due to the fact that they though that the Virus, you remember Coroa? No not the booze the boys may have beendrinking whikle they were having night out when they should have been under curfew.
Quickly passes over that fact that the Yellas have many players that should have been put out to pasyure a few years ago, then they could have got out of nick without hurting the club.
Is this fella a Yellas fan trying to slide the pressure away from his beloved Yellas.
With Fremantle winning a place in the finals last year, it must be remembered that their draw this year was much harder than the previous season.Played more top eight teams than last season.
Eagle were bottom so were fed an easier draw.
A fairly light piece of tripe.

Western Australian footy is a mess, but the West Coast Eagles are only half the problem

I was totally shattered by the result on the weekend.
But in defence, if Darcy had played, the structure of our forward line would not have been thrown out.It happened the week before as well.Darcy plays, Nankerville and Briggs don’t dominate the ruck contests.Darcy is a bulk, like the two oppositions players mentioned.Jackson was too easily pushed under the ball by their bulk.Darcy rucks 80% of the time.Jackson plays a mix of forward and mid.AND Darcy is close to our best clearance player.
Jackson up forward allows Amiss and Treacy to play their roles as forwards.Treacy is not a ruckman.
But a question, do we over rate our small forwards? We need them to kick more goals,They are not feared by the opposition backs. Most other clubs have small forwards who scare the bejesus out of backmen withtb heir skills and goal kicking ability, ours don’t.

'Major concern': Fremantle must address critical leadership vacuum

Well said that man. The game is a schmozzle because of inconsistenies from umpires.
I don’t envy them and their job, but they make some absloutley horrendous decisions.
AND, now with four to boot, they make more wrong calls than ever.
Four umpires were implimented to make them LESS fatigued than with three. As was the case in the Pies Crows game that the really really bad decisions were made LATE in the game. This, when the were supposedly supposed to be less fatigued.
The reasons behind the adding of umpires is bewildering really. The third umpire was instigated to stop the behind the play situation, coward hits, in other word thuggery. This has now been eliminated with the dozens of cameras around the ground. So why did they not eliminate the third umpire?
Now the fourth is to eliminate fatigue late in games, well the AFL really do need to reconsider this.
Umpires now seem to be pulling the rabbit out of the hat to make out they are doing something. They have too much time when not included in the play and think they need to make decisions… just because.
There needs to be a private investigation into why the AFL, Boys Club want to make more and more changes. Is it so they can employ more of their buddies!

Constant rule changes have made umpiring in the AFL impossible - and the game is suffering

Oops meant backs when talking of Fyfe.

2023 Best 23s: Can the most important teenager in the AFL deliver for the Dockers?

Agree re Fyfe and O’Meara. Fyfe will maul and mangle plenty of good forwards this season.
One player almost all are missing out on mentioning is Sam Sturt. I have been on his wagon for a long time. He has need a good run at the game after so much injury. His body appears to be right for AFL now. His mind has taken to the game as well. He has been impressive in the two scratchies. Also burning up the track at training.
An exciting prospect who has been at the club for four years. Set and ready to break out.

2023 Best 23s: Can the most important teenager in the AFL deliver for the Dockers?

Marty, the WAFL is struggling to keep its head above water as it is without this virus crisis.
All clubs, apart from Subiaco are struggling financially. It seems that one of the great clubs of the WAFL, West Perth, the Garlic Munchers, could be a club ready to fold.
The games struggle to get 1,000 to a game, some as low as 500.
The WAFL have struggled for relevance since the introduction of the Eagles and later the Dockers.
Football in WA is in dire straights.

Why sport must look backwards to move forwards

Sorry I haven’t responded to comments before but been busy and trying to work my way around the site.

Why sport must look backwards to move forwards

It seems to me, as a non rugby person that they are shooting themselves in the foot by what seems to be arrogant behaviour from both the players and officials.
It is a code, both, that seem to want to destroy the game.
RL broke WA RL fans hearts when they destroyed the Reds.
As stated the ARU, destroyed the competition when it refused the $55 mil that was put on the table to rescue it Andrew Forest.

Why sport must look backwards to move forwards

Second tier Aussie rules was called off in the WAFL,VFL and I think the SANFL.

Why sport must look backwards to move forwards

Very sad news indeed.A very very good bowler who held up and end while the destroyers did their job.
Rest peacefully Maxie.

Rest in peace Max Walker, a legend on the field and off it

I think we can afford to play Fyfe at CHF and I am confidant we will. Most of our forwards play as mids any way. They seldom stay at home. Look at the way Mayne plays. Another point is that Walters is going to be used more as a forward come mid this season and will add run to our midfield. Yes I think Fyfe will play a lot more forward and at CHF and Pavlich from the goal square.
I also agree with Balthazar about our speed in the mid field. Yes we have big bodies and a good mid field but it is far from quick. Mundy and Barlow as good as they are not really fast. Not a knock on them just fact.
Any way they are just my thoughts on it.
I think we have done well in selections from the draft and one of the things that pleases me is that we have selected two boys who are local and have played at the second tier of the game. They have experienced the harder bodies, though not as toughened as those of the AFL. With this I think it will allow them to mature and play at AFL level sooner.

Fremantle and big picture drafting

Paulie, we are not touchy, just sick and tired of those who know J/S about the running of our football club having a snipe at us. For too long it has been an easy thing to write crap about our club, Yep we deserved a whole heap of it, but some journos haven’t seen or been prepared to see the change that has occurred at the football club over the last five or six years.
Maybe touchy, but we have a right to be over such shallow journalism. Obviously he hasn’t taken the time to do any study on our playing list.
Rant over.

2015 AFL preview: Fremantle Dockers

I also think that it is far too easy for journos still to take pot shots at Fremantle. Yes we would have liked to finish better than we did,but injury at the wrong time of the year robbed us of our two best backmen and arguably two of the better backmen of the competition.
It has become very clear that the hardest thing in the AFL for the two WA clubs to do is attract big name players to the state. Fremantle have thrown the kitchen sink at Cloke, Franklin and Frawley in the last three years and yet have not even got close to getting any of them.
A very shallow summation of the fortunes of the club I would say. So much so that one could assume that the author is from a side that covers a vast part of our state.Yet I still have to find that name anywhere on a map.

2015 AFL preview: Fremantle Dockers

I don’t think that Mayweather has the ticker to fight him. Make more excuses.
Frankie remember what Kostya Tszyu did to Judah. To me Judah was a blown up fighter who never achieved what was expected of him.

Is the Pacquiao vs Mayweather fight still relevant?

Dizzy did they bowl the allotted 90 overs per day when you were playing!!!! I think not.
It is not really all that long ago when they use to bowl 100 eight ball overs in a day and have time to spare.
