Rugby tragic hampered by injuries.

I can’t see too many more changes. The WC is only a yr away. I think EM will try to lock combinations away and blood youth.

Slow?
Read Max Powers statement.

As well as McCabe, be very direct running from 12, bend the line and create momentum.

Skelton will bend the line, draw defenders and is able to offload. We also need to start blooding a lot of youth in the second row and back row, so in the emergence of an injury crisis we aren’t running on with 3 debutants.
It’s is critical of Link to give these players as much experience as possible. The World Cup is only around the corner.

+1
Hornes defence is the pinnacle of the SR comp this year. An attacking defender who hits very hard. Has only missed 2 tackles for the season.

Our positive, we are still very far away from peaking.

Same same... but oh so different

The positive for AB fans (negative for Wallabies), the English have woken up the sleeping beasts.
It was a great hit out for the ABs and it scares me a little how they will hit back come the Rugby Championship. The ABs showed their dominance and usual selves between the 40-65min mark, and you can’t help but be struck with awe and praise the way they played, even as a Wallaby supporter.

All Blacks will learn from testing times against England

England are going to be fantastic next year. The Wallabies really have drawn the pool of death.

Scott,
If the Wallabies win the next match, do you see Mckenzie completely changing the team for the third test?
IMO, Mckenzie seems quite guarded, like he’s playing with an ace up his sleeve. Could this be why Genia, Higgiz, etc have had no game time, yet contradicts my opinion that we have seen Toomua and Kurindrani build a centre test partnership.
I would still love to see Skelton run on, Horne a chance on the wing, AAC back at 13 and Sio (who i’m baffled about) at least get 60mins.

The Roar Rugby Show: Preview of Wallabies v France 2nd Test

It is extremely sad to see the respect to play for your country fade away and in comparison the respect NZ and SA have for their country and what an honour it is to wear that special jersey, (unless you’re Steyne).
Unfortunately, players know they have limited time to cash in on their skills, contracts are meaningless and wherever the big bucks are thrown, the players will go.
2015 is surely going to be a very new Wallaby team and i’m sure we will see many new faces in the SR franchise.

Kicking?
Since when does Phipps kick? He has the best forward back in front of him in the Australian conference and he still delivers slow ball.

Wallabies team to play France in second Test announced

Well said.

Wallabies should be rested from Super Rugby

I think Chieks admitted that he regretted not recruiting a set piece coach instead of a kicking coach too.

Super Rugby's June break: Teams in it up to their ears

Cheikas recruitment of Jacques Potgieter has been the ace up the sleeve. He has led by example with his hard running and defensive style of play, with plenty of mongrel. I credit his influence on the forwards step up, and the emergence of Will Skelton as a future Wallaby.

Super Rugby's June break: Teams in it up to their ears

I think Genia has lacked a decent forward pack to give him fast ball.
The NSW Waratahs have been very aggressive with their breakdown and clean out plays allowing Phipps to have speedier service. If Genia was allowed to play behind the Tahs pack, I think we would see a very big difference.

The Roar Rugby Show: Five areas the Wallabies should focus on against France

Scott,
Totally agree with you regarding Genia not being included in the team. IMO, I would have selected Genia over Phipps. Phipps has had some great games in the past few weeks, but I find that he does go through some very slow patches when attending to the breakdown, resulting in the defending team counter rucking and being able to set their defence lines. Phipps also lacks the kicking ability of Genia too.

Well said AJ.

Ewen McKenzie's Wallaby selection mistakes

AAC has proven time and again that he is our best #13 in both attack and defence.
Kuridrani is great on attack but his defence is very questionable.
AAC gets my vote. I’d prefer to have Horne as a back 13 than Kuridrani. His defence is exceptional, runs straight hard lines just like AAC. Plus his versatility as a wing is another positive.

Ewen McKenzie's Wallaby selection mistakes

8 changes for the Chiefs hopefully that works in favour of the Tahs.

Waratahs unchanged for Chiefs

I was referring to Italy and Argentina as minnows.

Watch out, McKenzie is set to strike

We carved up against the minnows of world rugby Jimbo. We couldn’t judge a coach on what he does against easy / easier opponents.
McKenzies’ test starts now, with a solid series against France and of course the challenge of winning the Bledisloe.

Watch out, McKenzie is set to strike

David, how can you criticise what Jake White did at the Brumbies. He unleashed a stack of young blood and created a winning culture.
As an avid Tahs supporter I may be a tad naive with the Brumbies internal commotions, but it was great to see the likes of Kuridrani, Mogg, Sio, Speight, Fardy, Auelua, Mowen shine as a captain and help the Rathbone make a remarkable comeback.
In my opinion, the Wallabies lost the greatest coach, due to politics and not allowing another overseas coach to take the reigns since the heavy criticism the ARU faced when Deans was employed.

Watch out, McKenzie is set to strike

He was employed to change the culture of both the players and fans.
He is doing that.
And you can never judge a coach from one and a half seasons of coaching. Just wait until the end of the season, and I’ll accept any remark.

Michael Cheika has mounting Waratah problems

The only positive we can take was our defence.
AAC and Horne were outstanding. The team scrambled well under pressure. The two tries by the sharks were simple brain explosions and lack of concentration.
The question that should be asked, what did our kicking coach do for us? Wasn’t Andrew Merhtens employed for this role?
If the score was closer, I’m sure the Sharks would have felt some pressure.

Michael Cheika has mounting Waratah problems

As players, we are always going to push the limits to see what we can get away with. Have a look at the legendary Richie McCaw. Much of his game play has been in the so called ‘grey area’. Great players will push limits.
It is natural to blame a ref if your team loses. We always remember the bad but never the good.
My one complaint to certain players is the respect. If the ref has blown the whistle, for whatever reason, accept it and move on. The decision will never be changed, so there is no point arguing and creating an even worse impression in the refs mind.
A great ref is someone who communicates the game well, has played the game and knows patience is needed and tempers may boil.

Why are we so quick to blame the referees?
