Mitchell Starc has been a total disappointment for some time now if there is no reverse swing. Either he bowls yorkers when it reverses or tries the bouncer. But he seems to have fallen so far behind with the new ball and overall good bowling on line and length. He’s not anymore a first picked for me in the test side.

No Starc is very mediocre these days. ODI ranking dropped down to number 10 from the top.

Not sure many of you have noticed this, but Stac’s ODI and t@- bowling has been mediocre since start of 2017. He was ranked no 1 ODI bowler back then but has no dropped down to 10th. His new ball bowling has been aweful really but has done with the older ball to save some grace. Just get a feeling there is some complacency creeping into his game which may have resulted in some bad technical habit which has hindered his bowling. What do you think ?

He was our frontline spin bowler in ODI and T20s until Smith overlooked him. Clarke backed him and got the best out of him. No wonder his batting flourished at that time. Ever since Smith stopped bowling him and used Head instead it had a negative effect. I dont know what they see in Head as a bowler but he just looks bog average, no better than Warner with him leg spin. Maxwell has more guile for a spinner. You only wonder why Smith doesn’t use him. Cant be cricketing reasons.

Anyone noticed how good Warner was with his captaincy ? Give him a break with his own batting but he is miles ahead as a leader compared to Smith, specially in limited overs cricket. If Smith was in charge yesterday we would have seen a lot more animations and fidgeting but less of actually trying to do something different to get wickets. Best solution now for us is to leave Warner as captain and let Smith concentrate on Tests. It just felt the team was playing more freely under Warner rather than being afraid to let things flow. Anyone saw how Stoinis fielded near the boundary with a funky save. If Smith was there, he would have got a different response to that. The thing with Warner is he lets players be themselves rather than asking them to play and train like himself. Our best shot at T20 WC would be with:

Lynn
Maxwell
Stoinis
Turner / M Marsh (Still a good limited overs player)
Carey
Agar
Tye
Starc

Agree. The personal Vendetta against Maxi is embarrassing to say the least. There will always be a reason to omit him from the team, unless there is a golden opportunity to make him the scapegoat for failure. Smith needs to step down as ODI and T20 skipper. Give it to Warner. Boof needs to go. We need Dizzy or Punter. Not Justin Langer please. He will play the whole WA team in the baggygreen.

It has come to a stage where Smith and Maxwell can’t b in the same team. How pathetic that the Aussie national cricket team has become a boy’s club.

They have set Maxi up for doom now. To be honest this T20 team does not promise much. I think they will be lucky to even come close to winning a game against the flying Kiwis and the Englishmen. After they fail, Maxwell will be made the scapegoat even if he does fire. Then the selectors (AKA Smith’s legion) will be able to get rid of Maxwell for good. I really feel for Maxi. He has been treated in the worst possible way by this inept bunch of has beens. We need a selection committee who feels the energy required to succeed in the limited overs games, not these old set who played in the 90s. If I were Maxi, I would just go across the Tasman to play for NZ or go over to England where he will be most welcome. I want him to play against Smith’s Australia and beat them to the dust. Just to see how Smith would react and flinch. Smith is an absolute gun batsman, but the worst possible man manager and the most inept international cricket captain I have ever seen. If they go on like this it wont be long before Australia become the laughing stock in World Cricket, if we already are not. – Gutted true Aussie cricket fan. I’m sure I share the view of most.

Yes you are right that Faulks has lost his mojo. It all went awry after the driving incident in England. It’s time he looks back at himself and redeems his character. Something seems missing from him but I dont think its too far away from him either. Class is permanent. So let’s wait and see.

Australia need two important players back in the team. Faulkner and Maxwell. And they need both of them clear minded and eager to deliver. These two add so much balance and dynamics to the team. I dont know if they have personality issues but for the good of Aussie cricket both has to be there. It’s up the brains trust to make sure they clear any niggles between Smith and these two. Fit and Firing Maxwell and ever reliable Faulkner were tow important stones on Aussie success. It’s not too late. Now is the time to build up. 2019 WC team should look like:

Yes Smith lacks the killer instinct i limited overs cricket. He has always been a defensive captain and that is OK for test cricket. But Smith might as well concentrate on his batting in ODIs (and T20 I’m not sure he should play) and leave Warner to lead the troops. But hey we can all comment what is good for Aussie cricket but these things will never happen and we will gracefully lose the WC and even then I’m not sure CA will see what needs to be done. Karma for leaving Maxwell out. Let’s hope these guys see some light before it’s too late, Make Warner captain and bring in the GOAT to play ODIs. I also like Carey. Worth persevering for some time.

Australia’s ground fielding in these last two tests have been poor. dropped catches don’t do any good. Smith may have taken some blinders, but in my book he is not a reliable slipper. I remember dropped catches as much as I remember his blinders. Anyone missing Renshaw ?

Lehman must go… if Smith says coaching staff is not involved, that is bullshit. Jason Gillespie or Ricky Ponting should be made captain. Even JL with all his WA push. These guys played hard and were naive at times, but they would never do organized cheating like this. Smith should be banned and should resign. Bring in Maxwell atlast. Make Warner captain. I know some of you might disagree but we do not have any other. Or bring in Travis Head and make him captain.
