You live in Victoria where football fans are treated as second class citizens—-I feel sorry for you. Football Federation Australia have set the tone in Australia. I see nothing wrong with calling our code Football and dispensing with the term soccer—no matter where you live in Australia. the Soccer reference has nothing to do with the game itself only that it was a reference point for a group of football organisations coming together to form an association. The Mother’s Breast Feeding Association must be very confused.

Fairy—-yes if you like—-but I’m referring to the Qantas sign that was put up at the HAL grand final in Melbourne two seasons ago by Qantas themselves, in support of the Australian National Football Team heading over to South Africa for the Football World Cup … Qantas do a fine job with Rugby as well. However, as you would know the IRB have re-branded their code as Rugby and call their world cup the Rugby World Cup. But hey, I will support you if you want to make that Football connection to Rugby.. Most Aussie Rules folk say hands of the name Australian Football, which I reject totally.

You can only codify with a national body let it be known. their first national body did not happen until 1997 with still South Australia not willing to join up. Aussie Rules o/s is play on rectangular fields with 9 players aside and under the AFL banner.. How is that meant to be codified..?

I only follow Football because it’s the world game with 208 football leagues in the world.. I would rather know what is happening in Asia than worry about anything that is happening in your obscure code. It’s unfortunate for you if you want to stay with a code that the rest of the world has no interest in.. That’s your choice not mine.
