It seems like every player is appealing to the referee for something these days, or whingeing about a referee’s decision, calling forward passes, waving six again or just waving their arms around generally.
What chaos, and it wasn’t always like this, as once upon a time no one spoke to the referee at all.

Referees have all the power they need to stop players abusing them. Either use it or put up with the abuse.
Referees would be better served and better respected if they spent more time enforcing the rules and less time calling players by their first names while performing on-field coaching duties, including how to pack a scrum, who’s offside, etc.
As for Badger, she’s just one of several very ordinary referees running around in first grade at the moment.
