And here I was thinking that he had got everything off his chest with the last “inspired” comment.
How wrong I was.

Are Super League really going to refuse entry to Toronto?

wow is all that comes to mind.

Are Super League really going to refuse entry to Toronto?

In 2007 the Knights came 15th; Although, he retired after playing 4 minutes of the first game and 1 full game after that before getting injured at training and finding a pre-existing bulging disc in his neck. His last full year with the Knights was in 2006 where they came 4th.
Shows what happens when a quality player like Johns is out of the team. 4th to 15th.

The unwanted record Johnathan Thurston could finish his career with

Brett Kimmorley should have been selected, and kept selection, even after “that pass”. It was clear that Bozo blamed him for the series loss and avoided picking him, even though he was the best option for years.
Can you imagine what could have been if we had Kimmorley there next to a young Pearce (or some other half) to guide him through Origin and one day have Pearce (or some other half) take over from him instead of just thrusting in young blood every year and hoping for the best?

Daley, Fulton and Gallen: Why NSW kept falling short

Yeah he played fullback before he played in the halves. Was quite handy as a fullback in fact.

Confirmed: Billy Slater to miss State of Origin Game 1

Walker threw a punch in retaliation. He deserved the 10 the same way that Scott deserved to be sent. Koroisau on the other hand should have been sent for an early shower for his coward punch instead of just 10 in the bin.

Stop the hysteria, Gerry Sutton was absolutely right to bin Napa

I think the channel 9 commentary team take more viewers away from the second game than Fox having the first game does.

The $7 million answer to the NRL's crap-ass fixture

Isn’t this entire argument about time slots hurting million dollar franchises first world problems though?

The $7 million answer to the NRL's crap-ass fixture

Why don’t you give it a go then and show everyone how easy it is?

2nd worst. Titans have that title.

Nathan Brown: It's time for captain's challenge in the NRL

But that was ruled to actually be a correct call by the letter of the law.

Don't blame the refs, Bulldogs fans. They didn't cost you the game

Have you ever stated how many rep players were playing for Parramatta in 2001?
16 of the 17 had rep level experience in or before 2001. 7 of them had played for a top tier nation and only 2 of those debuted that year.
So you constantly make note that the 2001 team won with a team “stacked” with rep players (11) yet forget to mention that they beat a team with 16 rep players. And the 1 player that hadn’t reached rep level by that stage played for QLD the very next year.
I understand you are trying to make a point that A Johns didn’t do it all by himself, but you have to give credit that they beat a team with more rep players.

Why isn't Ken Irvine an Immortal?

O’Davis, Gidley, MacDougall, Johns, Buderus (debut 2001), and Kennedy all played for Australia in or before 2001. 6 players is about standard for a premiership winning team.
Go back through time and have a look at every premiership winning team in the NRL era and the ratio of players in the winning team playing for a top tier nation would be very similar.
The Storm team from last year had 11 Australian and NZ international players in it.

Why isn't Ken Irvine an Immortal?

If he’s not in the top 8, how can he be in the top 3?

Why isn't Ken Irvine an Immortal?

100% agree. I have no idea how everyone can forget about Lazarus and his feats on the field when discussing the Immortals. I mean, even his name suits the concept.

Why isn't Ken Irvine an Immortal?

Whilst I agree that wingers are probably the most replaceable players on the field, when you do have a good one, they can have as much impact on a game as a good running forward. Look at the likes of Radradra, Rapana (on a good day), Sailor, Grothe Snr, etc. and the impact they had on their team when they were on.
If you talk about the generalized positional play of a team, yes wingers are nowhere near as important as their counterparts, but as with any position, when you have one that is a next level type player, they can be the difference in winning and losing.

Why isn't Ken Irvine an Immortal?

Sammy, there is no point trying to argue this point with Nat, he just doesn’t like Andrew Johns and seems to conveniently forget that every team that wins a Grand Final is usually littered with rep players, usually due to the fact that they are obviously in form that year and therefor get picked.

Why isn't Ken Irvine an Immortal?

Woods runs, hits the line, stands around for a couple of seconds looking for an offload, then gets wrestled to the ground resulting in a slow play the ball that gives the opposition enough time to have some tea and a scone whilst making sure they’re identifying the next play on the cards.
Taumololo runs, hits the line, keeps pushing and is then held either standing up or on the ground, but is straight back up ready to get a fast play the ball and allow the hooker to cut through some retreating defence, or feed the ball to the play makers with room to move.
Metres gained is not always the best tool to rate a forwards impact on the game. Post contact metres should be discussed more for forwards I believe.

Has your club backed the wrong horse in 2018?

Lowest crowd at Brookvale I have seen is Round 14 last year. 4,189 against Newcastle as well.

Analysing the NRL's wooden spoon contenders

10,000 seems small, but when you look at ANZ with 20,000 in it, the atmosphere gets lost. I’d rather be at the game with a packed 10,000. Fantastic atmosphere.

Can the Knights make the eight without Pearce: Burning questions from NRL Round 7

No, they had a player (Yates I believe) coming back from a successful HIA test which gives them a free interchange and they have every right to Yates him back on the field for any player (including Pearce).

established rep players in that 2001 team…
Johns, Gidley, O’Davis, MacDougall, Kennedy, Grief (1 game for NSW City in 1995), O’Brien (2 games for QLD in 1997) (7)

Players that played their first rep game in 2001…
Tahu (NSW Country), Hughes (NSW), Buderus (NSW Country), Simpson (NSW Country) (4)

Players that played after this shoudln’t count as they weren’t at rep standard in 2001.

Looking at this list, the only players here that would be considered consistent rep players would be the first 5 that I mentioned that had previously played rep footy and 3 of the players that made their rep debut in 2001. Of those 3, none of them played State of Origin or Test footy until at least the next year.

So is your argument that because there were players in the team that were good enough to play rep footy years after they won the premiership that it was easier for them to win the premiership even though the players didn’t have “rep experience”?
Or could it be that playing next to an immortal made them look like, or even play like better players, and therefor earned their rep selection due to this?

And FYI, North Queensland won their premiership with 11 established rep players.

Is this the NRL's best-ever team?

Why should Burgess not get 2 weeks? His shot connected high and he has loading due to prior offences. If he shouldn’t get the 2 weeks off, why doesn’t he fight it like he tried (and failed) to do last time? Could it possibly be because he realizes now that just because he thinks the shot was not too bad that the judiciary may not see it the same way?

L. Ron Hubbard had it right the whole time…

Tell your story walking Israel. The NRL doesn’t want your crap

Australia does not have “freedom of speech”. There is nothing in the constitution that gives Australian’s the right to freedom of speech.
