I don’t think anyone would disagree they develop the best youth by far. The recruitment since becoming privatised is questionable hence the whispers of his displeasure. Kasiano is huge and could do damage but I same was said about Tony Williams and even Dave Taylor. They can be damaging but don’t put in the effort. I can see improvement under Bellamy but not enough to see why he’d be a decent signing

Would Craig Bellamy leave the Storm?

Lazarus would be the only real big name transfer to the club yes. The only other would be Brett Finch the first time after rep success and Parra. I agree 100% they are the best team currently by far and they are well stocked out in most positions. But you’re taking your Australian and Queensland half back out of the team for no direct replacement. Croft and Jacks would be your halves and I’m sorry that just isn’t the same team. Take any top half out of any team and they will struggle more that’s plain fact. The only signing of any magnitude for the upcoming year is Kasiano. A lazy forward. Him fitting into their resilient hard working defense I think is questionable it will be like when they signed George Rose all over again. It is all well and good when you let go of wingers and forwards but take out Cronk for no direct replacement smells trouble. They’ll still be a top 8 team but without a half back they won’t be winning next year. Every young half needs time to develop and while they can play along Cronk it’s perfect but two youngsters controlling the game they have to be mighty good.

Would Craig Bellamy leave the Storm?

I myself am a massive Liverpool fan and think he would be a huge get. I think the transfer market is inflated hence why they want 60 mil. In reality he is a 35-40 million dollar defender. Whether Southampton will sell is another matter as they visibly are very frustrated by the situation but may have no choice but to sell now. As for the backline Milner will move back to the midfield with Robertson the starting left back and Moreno will be second choice at left back after having a surprisingly good preseason which is why Liverpool did not end up offloading him.

Virgil van Dijk's transfer could change the Premier League race

I think Sloane will rack up a few more points than he is predicted to and although I can’t see him in anyway getting the Brownlow over Dustin Martin I think he will be closer than expected.

Predicting the final ladder and Brownlow Medal: An update from the 'Spreadsheet of Death'

I personally think one of the most disappointing teams is the Rabbitohs. The Warriors in recent years have underperformed and it may be a mentality thing within the team. For the Rabbitohs you have the three Burgess brothers who were previously deadly. You have one of the most talented players in Cody Walker working with Adam Reynolds who is a top halfback. Yes Inglis has been injured but they were as disappointing last year. Got some good youngsters coming through, Crighton has been exceptional in a team struggling for consistency. Before last year they had made the top 8 the 4 years prior finishing top 3 in 3 out of those 4. This team has a rich history and I can see underperforming in the upcoming years. I personally think they are rarely brought up how poor they are but they have good youngsters including Cook and just really fail to fire.

Who has been the most disappointing team of 2017?

If anyone watched the Dutch super cup game they would see why the VAR has gone to far. After a Vitesse penalty was waved off by the referee Feyernoord went up the other end and scored to seal the game 2-0 with only 10 to go. The VAR went back to the original penalty and gave it. It was converted and scores weee 1-1. If Feyernoord didn’t go on to win in penalties the uproar would be crazy. I’m all for goal line technology by the VAR will ruin such a great sport if they’re not careful.

Football does not need the VAR System

I couldn’t agree more with this and Warren really shouldn’t make any A-League teams starting side. Castro can win you a game from nothing but they can’t rely on him week in week out to get them out of jail.

Why this season may be an ordeal for Perth

I honestly can’t see Manchester United winning it. Mourinho is definitely a good manager but the squad is overcrowded in the midfield and he fails to offer enough regular football to midfielders such as Mkhitaryan and Mata that are fantastic players. I would be surprised if they beat Chelsea who were by far the strongest team last year even if they are without Diego Costa. I myself am a Liverpool supporter and agree we will be unlikely to make the top 4 this year. Everton are definitely going to be a team on the up and wouldn’t be surprised if they land Sigurdsson and I think although spurs have failed to get reinforcements they will be a top 4 side. I do agree with your three relegated predictions. Well written piece.

2017/18 English Premier League season predictions

Bulldogs on last nights performance won’t beat any team but wouldn’t surprise me if they win one or two remaining. Panthers need to win 2 of their last three and I don’t think they will. Eels have the easiest run home of any top 8 contender

What are your team’s chances of making the eight?

It’s a relief this stand off is over for all involved. Sadly the ones who really were going to suffer were the cricket fans themselves.

Cricket fans, rejoice: Pay dispute over, Bangladesh tour (and Ashes) set to go ahead

In the last few hours fox sports report that he has told Barcelona he wants to leave. I myself am a Liverpool fan and have seen situations like this before with Sterling and Suarez.

Coutinho transfer: Will Liverpool lose their man?

He offers Liverpool that creative option in behind that Salah and Mane do not have. He is that player that can win you a game or come up with something out of nothing. Sadly your players in your prime are often preferring moves to the top Spanish clubs due to the appeal of winning trophies and more importantly Champions League success. Until the EPL teams can prove that they can compete into the latter stages of the Champions League players will prefer moves to Spain and Bayern Munich.
