Agree wholeheartedly. It would be gross mismanagement of the All Blacks “brand” if they did have to engage with autocracies to fill the coffers. Problem is, Australia could drag them down. If they have not already with their shit provincial delusion.

Your a bad seed, badseed.

'Attitude and loyalty surpass strength and speed': The Blues need to 'out-Queensland' the Maroons to have Origin success

Burton is evolving as a player. And kicking well generally. Not small either.

Funny I was watching him against the warriors and it occurred to me that he still goes ok. He and Jurbo are very similar.

'Attitude and loyalty surpass strength and speed': The Blues need to 'out-Queensland' the Maroons to have Origin success

And amongst all that, I have a David Lord story that sums the man up…
Circa mid-nineties I’m playing grade cricket for Mosman and the club is in dire straits. We had third graders playing first grade (me) and no grades won any games for basically an entire season. In walks Lordy and starts revving us up about the future and how there would be changes and he was coming to the rescue (not his words). And so he did.
First grade won the last two games of that season just on hype, and this ripple of positivity ran throughout. Mosman is a proud club with the likes of Border and McCabe as former players. It also had (still does) some of the loveliest grounds in Sydney Grade cricket. Next season is on the horizon and rumours start flying around that we’re getting this bloke and that. And so I found myself standing behind the nets, as you do, in early season practice and Lordy walks around with this grin on his face and says…”what have you heard” …I didn’t answer directly, trying to be coy. He couldn’t help himself and just reeled them off:
Craig Hughes…Parramatta all rounder and consistent O’Reilly medal contender
Warwick Adam…Gordon fast bowling all rounder known for hitting big sixes
Shane Lee
Brett Lee
Martin Hayward…in the NSW shield side at that point batting four or five.
Phil Alley…St George quick who happened to be a 6’10 leftie.
And so it turned out to be. Dunno how he did it, you can use your imagination, but suddenly the first grade side is an all star team I’m in second grade which is a relief and everything filtered through after that. Great bloke, helped so many people. His crowning glory, I reckon, was that once Brett Lee got up and running a few years later, after so many back injuries, he managed to get Shoaib Ahktar to Mosman. Apparently they got on well. I didn’t see it but the two of them in tandem at Mosman Oval, then a quick deck and is quite a small ground. Keepers on the fence, nearly.
Not sure if David Lord was involved in that one but it’s got his fingerprints all over it.
Vale mate. You made a difference

Probs because lebs have guns and knives?

Violence is not 'passion': Wanderers fans chuck a wobbly again... why is it always them?

50 minutes on the train? Would that be because Cronulla is at the southernmost extremity of a large city. Around which a train line has to be built around the waterways that make it such a great city. Shanghai, give me a break. London and Tokyo are global cities that have public transport commensurate with their economic relevance. BTW if you could catch a fictional train from Richmond to Cronulla you would find that, in Japan, you would be in Osaka! No country town…

Irony? Or patronising? Or presumptuousness? It’s all too much for me.

Must be for mighty thinkers with mighty blinkers.

It’s conceivably conceivable.

Why things could be about to get even uglier for Rugby Australia in fallout over Rebels debacle

Yep. Nobody wins here, short term.

Rebels set to sue Rugby Australia as civil war erupts, Rugby Victoria President barred from summit

You didn’t come down in the the last shower did you?

'He screwed our state': The act that still angers Twiggy Forrest and why he's not ready to jump back in

It’s an ambit claim, start high work your way down to the happy place that both party’s are comfortable. This is the first time i have availed myself of some of the details about this issue. Far out. The dude has more money than God, wants to help, knows, loves and understands the game. What i find funny is that the politics of the Rebels and the Force are in play. FFS, you are a strategic contrivance. Lap it up.

Props are fast these days.

RWC heartache, Eddie and what's next: In demand young gun delivers biggest clue yet on future

Yeah but isn’t the point of it to have 93 players on the fringe and then they move on up the ladder?Yes but the problem is the ladder, and does it exist?

Wallabies depth chart: The list that dispels the myth Aussie rugby doesn’t have enough players

The kid is solid gold. I’ve never seen a better player at schoolboy level. Of course that doesn’t necessarily transpire…
I nearly teared up when I heard the news about the knee. He’s recovered from that and another pretty heavy injury, being vaunted, yet relatively unproven and in the eyes of many just another unfortunate instalment of the Eddie farce. But that timeline in his first year out of school will set him up nicely I reckon. Good luck to him.

Exactly!!
No different than soccer all over the world too. Old mate, the new sponsor, fix it, chump change. We know it works.

Rugby Australia is back where they hoped they would never return - and their next move could make or break the game

None of this back and forth gets us anywhere. Nothing suggested addresses the elephant in the room, That is that rugby is too often boring and pedantic.

You were and you weren’t, but fair call. 2015 GF side and went alright. No excuses for the post Uncle Wayne stuff but…

2024 is the Year of the Dragon, but it looks like St George Illawarra didn’t get the memo

You’re right Tony. I’ve just tee’d up on this particular thread as I take proper stock

2024 is the Year of the Dragon, but it looks like St George Illawarra didn’t get the memo

How’s this for optimism?

Choice of spot on the hill at either Kogarah (might go twice) and WIN Stadium (hard to see when I’ll get the motivation) AND into pre-game Taj Mahal Chinese pretty easy too. Although the Bulldogs win the yum cha hands down. Another disappointment. What’s not to love….?

2024 is the Year of the Dragon, but it looks like St George Illawarra didn’t get the memo

Yeah but I’d take some of their recruits in a heartbeat. Dragons are abject.

2024 is the Year of the Dragon, but it looks like St George Illawarra didn’t get the memo

Maybe things have gone right. Two of them have long standings injuries they tried to keep quiet (ok not Amone, his long term issue was different) annd we dodged an bullet. Imagine if they actually legally had the dragons in a bind? Having just clutched at straws…bugger me, I have no optimism whatsoever. None. Zip. Zero. Zilch. Flanagan is going to have to pull a rabbit about of a hat. Big time.

2024 is the Year of the Dragon, but it looks like St George Illawarra didn’t get the memo

Your kidding? Without Boyd dragons don’t win in 2010. FACT. an elite player who struggled to get up for lesser games. No argument.

Ha! Poor sentence structure, a wedding a few months ago and BAM! A pommie brother in law, a lippy one at that…
