Excellent training environment for some up and comers physical conditioners, physio, assistant coaches. Opportunity for RA to handle the appointments

The Wrap: Code Orange as looming Rebels decision places rugby pathways at risk

Sensible suggestion PK IMHO RA need a team in Melb and the Orange program needs continued support.

Maybe the SR commission can create an ANZAC based in Melb but fully funded via the commission and their respective bosses.

Interested to know if the Orange program receives any government assistance

I’m sure he wouldn’t give a hoot but I still think it was unnecessary

maybe I did maybe I didn’t, regardless the comment was unnecessary and added nothing to the story

It implies if it wasn’t for his dad he wouldn’t have been picked. It was a unnecessary comment

This comment Jorgensen, the son of one of Jones’ friends Peter Jorgensen, is pretty poor Tony. You’re saying if it wasn’t for the Dad he would’ve been picked.

Great for the kids confidence or you’re on the team trying to get him across to the Roosters

Wallaby signs with English giants in new setback for reeling Rebels

What about the revenue being split evenly Geoff.

The Wrap: 'Curious and uncomfortable' move on the eve of SRP, and 12 players who will light up the comp in 2024

Geoff my view on SR is that the new commission needs to decide what sort of competition it wants to be. Either a pathway program for respective AB & WB teams or a stand alone 12 team ( for now) competition where marketing reflects that, revenue is generated jointly from media and pooled, funding is provided to the 12 teams equally and players can play in any of the 12 teams but still be eligible for selection for their country.

Didn’t Castle knock back the Foxtel offer and the now CEO of Foxtel told her to shove it. McL came in and got a deal with Nine Entertainment, much lower but better than nothing.

Now the Board are worried as they don’t know how to negotiate broadcast rights. Oh dear where are the heavies from the Reds/ Brums who were taking us in a new direction to a brighter future.

Leaked document says RA out to 'destroy Super Rugby' and 'turn members against each other' as Rebels' pain comes to light

Reds v Tahs on Stan

Super Rugby teams: Reds name young gun for Tahs clash in front of Schmidt, Test halves to start against Wallaby-laden Brumbies

I think that’s a good sign from Schmidt in that these awards are for last season and he appears not to want to hog the limelight. Sure he’ll be there in 2025.

As for Herbert that’s not good shows a lack of respect IMO

agree on Fiji , automatic licence. IF Arg, SA & Japan come in are we back to conferences

Brumbies shut down talk of following Rebels into voluntary administration

They planned their campaign to peak from the Italy match onwards Always wondered why EJ targeted Portugal to launch the WBs finals charge.

I’m sure he’s not the first to get Georgia & Portugal mixed up

Oh I assumed Hansen went into camp with Jones so they could discuss EJ’s appointment to the job he didn’t know about.

'Something we needed': Coles says ABs would not have made RWC final without Schmidt - and why Wallabies stand to benefit

This is all very confusing. Weren’t the ACT one of the primary instigators of McL’s removal as chairman. “Our way is better follow us ” but it seems it could well have been a move to ensure survival.
For months commentary has been about how SR is not fit for purpose and Oz should drop a team or abandon the whole thing. Oz couldn’t afford to play in SR and how much money is wasted. There was suggestions around a competition NRL style etc etc.
SR is presently a 12 team comp but appears to be controlled by the national unions for their needs. Individual TV rights are negotiated but not distributed equally around the 12 teams but each team contributes around 8.3% of the product. Player movement is restricted to just 5 teams . Media both in print and TV typically covers just half the teams depending on which country you live in. The list could go on and on.
My suggestion, keep the 12 team competition but offer 10 licences to participate in the competition for minimum of 5 years. Anyone can apply but they must meet a very high standard of metrics and present a sound business plan for 5 years, backed up by facts not some airy fairy fantasy. If you think back to the merger of Super League & the ARL 2 founding clubs didn’t meet the criteria and didn’t get a licence.
Income is spread amongst all 12 teams evenly and a uniform salary cap introduced. TV rights etc are negotiated jointly and it is presented as 1 competition in the media
Surely this is a better option than what we have now

Sorry Don rightly or wrongly his time has passed

Wallabies depth chart: The list that dispels the myth Aussie rugby doesn’t have enough players

Interesting bunch of players John and you would think we should be able to put a competitive 23 on the field.

Didn’t Hanigan, Gamble & Simone not run out either the WBs or OzA. I also see the Arnold twins didn’t get on the list.

One positive, and I think I’m right, is that the majority of players named play here in Oz

One team has moved on while one still appears to be thinking what may have been. Very surprised by the result

2 yellows equal a red is tough. Maybe in these instances a replacement can come on after 10. Blatant foul & red no replacement

Six Nations 2024: 'Marseille massacre!' - solid Ireland crush 14-man France in series opener

I think they can go through unbeaten but wouldn’t be surprised if they drop one by a point. I think ( unfortunately) England may be the threat, last match of the tournament , 100 year war and all that and its at Twickers I believe

I think France get the win this weekend Harry and will go onto to win the 6Ns with Ireland a close 2nd just. Bonus points will play a factor
