Played district Rugby as a teenager. Played at: - high school - Old Boys - Bank of NSW [Westpac] Was not especially good at any aspect, kept back for more pain and suffering until old enough to know better. My team - . Gordon Highlanders . Live by our High School motto of 'Know thyself' I'm a far better supporter than I ever was a player. . Loyal to the end, which I think could be the death of me.

I’ve got the girls down as playing Canada today at 4.55? USA is 17 May.

Wallaroos name THREE debutants for Canada clash, big-name prop benched

I have to admit that had me chuckling away. I’m keen to see what the new coach brings and how quickly the team get up to speed with it. I believe it’s 2 tests with Canada before they take on the Black Ferns. Exciting times for Women’s Rugby. I’m sure the girls are super excited.

The good lady asked me what I thought of the game. I let her know that ‘my request for a field goal to sneak a win was granted. Only problem was it was the other team doing it to us’. Well done Drua. At least the NSW Women’s team did well, especially playing Fiji in Fiji.

Deja vu for Tane as Drua deliver another heart-breaker to under fire Coleman

That’s right!! It WAS ‘my brand’, not All Bran. How did I confuse them?

'Talent can be fickle': Schmidt avoids rushing to conclusions as JOC calls for 'Reds-heavy' Wallabies

That’s delating. But the truth.

'Philosophical, disappointed but excited': Tahs lose another nail-biter as wasteful Blues hang on to make it 10 straight

Unfortunately you summed my thoughts up nicely. With the Kiwi’s not firing on all cylinders at times, I was wishing for the Tahs to knock over a cheeky field goal to steal the show. Have these gone out of fashion or something?

'Philosophical, disappointed but excited': Tahs lose another nail-biter as wasteful Blues hang on to make it 10 straight

The good lady & I were scratching our chins over this, seemingly odd move. We wondered if perhaps it was a case of ‘fresh legs’ and that the Highlanders had worked out number 9’s tricks.

'Gutted': Edmed misses shot after siren as Tahs blow chance of going back-to-back against Kiwis for first time since 2015

Yes there is that.

'Fighting with one hand tied': To'omua calls on Rugby Australia to 'pick best Wallabies team' to stop international slide

Full disclosure – The Missus and I also gave the Tahs little chance of winning.
BUT… the boys did win AND….. after a really shat day where I damaged the tractor, had a huge storm hit (flooded us in and took out the power), I have to say that it was way better than good that the boys won. It was fan-bloody-tastic.
Yep!! The good lady, the Kelpie & I were all sat in front of the TV primed and ready to go, preparing our excuses for ‘we’re not quite there yet’, and Surprise, Surprise, ….. the boys & coaching team lifted our spirits with a damn fine performance and a very good win. Missus was jumping all over the couch yelling & screaming, urging the boys on. ‘Come On, tackle him’!! etc, etc. Hey better the TV than me. Actually she had me laughing my socks off.
Each Tahs points was met with a clink, from the bottles of Bundaberg sarsaparilla and a loud ‘whoo hoo’.
So thank you Waratahs players & coaches for allowing me to know what winning feels like. 😁

'No one backed us': $8 outsiders Waratahs upset Crusaders AGAIN as Edmed steps up to deliver famous win

It was an evening decked out in sky blue in front of the TV for the good lady, the mutt & I, as we all sat back to enjoy a combination of Rugby, pies & peas and icy cold Bundaberg ginger beer. Sadly, a fairy tale win for the Tahs was not to be, with Queensland running out worthy winners. Well done Reds & their amazing fans, the better team won.

'Tough call': Reds too good for Tahs in cracking Aussie derby, as controversial penalty try, yellow to Jorgo proves telling

Sheesh….I hope you’re right Don. I need something to help me and others in the house feel good about Rugby, following that Eddie moment that still has me asking ‘did anyone get the rego plates of that car that hit me’?
I’d be happy with the Tahs putting-in Effort with some Smarts, even if we do go down to the Reds at SunCorp.
On Coaching – I’ve got all my fingers & toes crossed hoping that Coleman can show us all that he can coach, motivate and learn from his mistakes. As someone that believes in stability over changing coaches, when the results aren’t always what you want, I want Darren Coleman to prove the doubters wrong. And that includes my good Missus.

Moment of truth looms for Coleman’s Waratahs - and more is on the line for NSW should their season come to naught

Indeed! Actually, in some ways it reminds me of those invitations I receive to attend school reunions. I hated high school. Why on Earth would I want to return to scene of the crime? Same goes for Eddie and the doco. More than likely it’ll be pure torment all over again.

'Stands out like dog's balls', 'set up for failure': Wretched Eddie-Slips moment that explains World Cup disaster

As an older person / senior citizen, that once was an athlete, I do admire that Quade appears to be doing all he can to keep himself in good nick. And ……. that’s about it.

Not super, Cooper: Quade's Wallabies recall mission begins with yellow card, thumping loss in Japan

And Lote comes across to me, as a real gentleman too that won’t cause your organisation grief.

Ha, ha!!!!! 😁 If you’ve got it, use it eh?

Mamma Mia! All Blacks almost hit a ton against Italy to make World Cup statement as Smith scores hat-trick

Firstly a huge well done to Wales, better team by a country mile. I agree with your sentiments mate. I am just your average Joe Blow who supports my local & Super team, and of course the Wallabies. Presently I am struggling to find anything. good to say about this entire France campaign. Like you, I will hold my tongue in the hope that solutions will finally be found to reverse the downward spiral that Australian Rugby has been experiencing for a while now. Surely we don’t need to get worse still before alarm bells start ringing.

'Complete dismantling': Eddie apologises for World Cup debacle, Hoops calls out moment that summed it up

You’ve summed up the sentiment in this country home very nicely mate. The good lady & myself, plus our kelpie, will be donned in our Wallabies kit, on the family couch, tuned into Stan and absolutely yelling our lungs out at the TV, supporting our boys. We’re a good chance to beat Wales. ‘Always back your team’ is our motto.

'Be careful': Cheika's warning to the World Cup as ex-coach goes into bat for wounded Wallabies

In fairness to White, who at times looks like an expected hen waiting for the egg to hatch, feeds the scrum, what more can he do if our boys are shoved off the pill?

Nuclear blow to Wallabies' hopes of dominating key area - as Fiji selection puts full glare on Donno

I’m that old too. I’ve never understood the disadvantage of a tall thrower tossing the pill to a tall catcher.

Weakest links, not superstars, often decide World Cups: So where are the fatal flaws in the top 10 contenders?

Absolutely right. He was a pleasure to see run out and play for the Wallabies & Tahs. Wish him well.

'Devastated': Folau out of Rugby World Cup with knee-injury as another former Wallaby called up

And besides Zen Monks are notorious for being silent. Ummmmmmm.

'Give yourself upper cuts': Eddie furious at journos after 'worst press conference I've ever had'

Good point James. After our flogging, I was watching the players to see if they were hurting as much as I was. They were mostly a glum lot and just what I’d hope for. Hopefully Eddie can use that emotion to propel them forwards and give us a whiff of improvement at the next few games, and then onwards to RWC in France.

'We can be a bloody good team': Eddie says he got selection right and Wallabies can still be RWC threat

Congratulations on your win Manu. Argentina is coming along very nicely. I suspect your intentions are good. However, please leave us poor Wallaby fans alone to wallow in our despair. Gracious.

'Gutted': Cheika's Pumas steal dramatic win to confirm Eddie's worst Wallabies fears

Driving home I heard this on the ABC & felt let down that Rugby Australia just can not manage to stay out of it. Why even risk dividing your fan base? Fans need to feel they can rely on Rugby to be impartial.
